You have white out or some other white substance blocking your scanner optics. I am assuming this is a thin blank line. What you need to do is make a copy of a document with your machine. You should see the very same blank line on your copy that your customer is seeing on their received fax. Now take this copy and place it in the document feeder the same way you placed the document when you made your copy. Now imagine this document going thru the feeder. The strip that is blank will "match up" with the white out or whatever is causing the blank line. You just need to open up the feeder section where the documents go in to be scanned and look for the thin strip of glass that runs from one side to the other. Using the copy you made with the blank line, use it to see exactly where the glass should have something stuck to it and clean it off with a soft clotch with a little glass cleaner on it. Go ahead and clean the while glass while you are in there. Once clean you can close it back up and run another copy to insure that all the lines are gone.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I get a white line through but it is not telling me to change toner?

This can occur if you receive a lot of faxes that may have a vertical block or a lot of text or pictures etc. in the same location on the page. The toner can be used in that particular area of the page and a white line results.

Remove the toner cartridge from the fax, keep it horizontal. Shake it side to side whilst keeping the cartridge horizontal. This redistributes the toner inside the cartridge. Replace the toner cartridge in the fax.

Hope this helps.

How do I lock the fax at night so faxes cannot be sent - canon L220

You would have to either unplug the fax machines power or unplug the phone line from it.

Our canon laser fax 1060p receives faxes fine but send out a total black page (also the copy function is a total black page)

No power/failed contact image sensor. If under contract get replaced. It is poss. that a "standard white setting adj." could fix it, but doubtful with a black copy. -Carl

White space in middle of faxes sent or received

Printing irregularites on sent faxes are due to spots or a dirty scanner.
Spaces on received faxes are due to a dirty drum, corona wire, or a failing or improperly installed toner cartridge. A new cartridge should be gently shaken back and forth sideways prior to installation.

Clean the machine’s interior and the primary
corona wire of the toner cartridge This is a common cause for your printing/copying problem. This should solve your issue. Best of luck.

White lines between the page

Are you getting the same type of white line on received faxes? If so, try redistributing the toner by removing the toner cartridge and gently rolling it back and forth.

If your received faxes are OK, then your scanner glass is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Page 8-4 in the Basic Guide provides instructions for cleaning the scanner. If you don't have the guide handy, you can view/download it here.

It sounds like the toner is getting low. Take out the toner cartridge and rock it back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner evenly in the cartridge. If this makes the printouts look better, you should order another cartridge, as this one is getting low. I'm not sure about the L-100, but the toner cartridge for the L-120 fax is good for about 2,000 copies.
