You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

Ignition module gap
Place a business or index card between the fly wheel and coil, rotate until the magnetic attraction pulls everything tight together. Tighten the coil screws, rotate the flywheel until the attraction eases and remove the card. Ensure nothing contacts when the flywheel is rotated.

There's 2 sets of numbers on the coil. The top i know is a part # but not sure about the bottom it's MA-15 1435 it's a Walbro coil

Rick, easiest just to order a coil by using make and model # of the chain saw.
MA 15 does show up a replacement Walbro coil.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Often the cause is a failed fuel pump diaphram. Rebuild the carb... kits about $20. The diaphram works from engine vacuum pulses. Also the little flap type check valves go bad... the ethanol in gas doesn't help this problem...

OPERATE

If you have not already, change the plug first and try it (very cheap insurance). If problem persists try this, it even checks the wiring and ignition switch:

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

If asking about ignition coil gap, an index or business card is a good gap tool. Remove the plug, rotate until magnetic attraction pulls coil and card tight to flywheel, tighten the coil screws. Rotate flywheel until magnetic attraction eases, remove card, rotate a couple of revolutions and ensure nothing drags or contacts flywheel. HTH

If I completely missed the problem you are having you can reply below with a little more information and I will try again. If you need the part number of a replacement coil I need the model and serial if a Poulan to give you the correct answer.

What is distance from coil to stator 14 in. poulan chain saw

I think you are asking for gap between the fly wheel and the ignition module. A business or index card works great. 0.1 - 0.3 mm. GL

Poulan saw wont start has spark and fuel

Look for a pinched/bare stop-switch wire (I assume that you don't have spark now). Also, check the ignition coil core gap to the flywheel magnets (I use card stock to set the gap). Make sure the plug wire was not damaged again.
