I need to know ! How do I make my Maxon MCB 45W Louder ....What do i have to do in my radio to make my transmit louder....Thank you!

I know you don't want to hear this, but the Maxon radio you own, and many similar radios (Cobra 19, Midland CB-1, Midland NT-CB-1001LWX, Uniden PRO-505XL, etc) are on the bottom of the performance list. These are for those who just need a crappy radio for the summer time traveling, and about keeping the cost as low as possible. Here are a few of my favorites that have good-LOUD audio: Galaxy, Connex, General Lee, and some of the older Uniden radios like Grant XL, PC-76XL or older Cobra 29 LTD, 25 LTD models.
Please stay away from Stryker radios, Magnum radios, Northstar radios and any radio which has a NITRO-KNOB. These are ticking time bombs. In other words, they WILL fail and it wont be an easy fix either. Most Strykers and Magnums have PCB Chip failures. They are next to impossible to replace. And finally, don't be so quick to buy the pretty radio with all the flashing lights either.

Beeping Error Code on Maxon SP2805SC

That is a programming code. They were linked to a repeater and they are telling you they can't find it. Get them re-programmed.

Stupid radio!!

press rds and fm1/2 together and hold it til your radio indicates the numbers 0000 then enter your code using the buttons 1234 keep presssing the number one til u get the first digit of your code then go on to the next number and so forth. once you get the code in press rds and fm1/2 again til lthe radio automatically turns on.

This solution is close, but not accurate for my 1998 A4 2.8. You press and hold FM2 and RDS until the display indicates 1000. Immediately release. Then enter code with radio numbers 1 through 4, pressing each one till you get the first no. of the code, then for 2, press till you get second no. of code, etc. The press and hold FM2 and RDS until radio comes on.

Press & Hold RDS & TP at the same time , display will flash enter your correct code then press and hold RDS & TP together to save the code. Radio will be unlocked after that if the correct code is entered

Reprogramming a Maxon SP 100G?

Hello codeencrypt,

THE SP100G is essentially the same radio as the SP100U UHF business band unit that Maxon made at the same time, just pre-programmed for GMRS. I believe there is a programming kit for this radio (Model number: SPK400C) which may still be available for purchase from Maxon directly. Otherwise, your best bet is going to be contacting your local Maxon dealer to see if they have the capability to program he radio.

Best regards,
Ken

Maxon Model MCB10A

In order to test this unit you will need a power meter with a dummy load. connect the power meter and turn on the unit, key the microphone and look at the power meter it should have a reading of < 4 watts PEP unmodulated and = 4 watts PEP modulated. If you do not have this reading the RF transmitter in the CB might be malfunctioning. You will need a RF generator, a power meter with dummy load, oscilloscope and a multimeter to troubleshoot this problem with. If you do not have or do not know what this equipment is or how it works, please take your unit to a CB repair shop. Thank you, Shuttle83
