Try pressing and holding down the function button and the dual montior key button (either F5 or F8) for more than 15 seconds. The laptop screen should darken and the image should appear on your television if that's what is wrong.

I wanted to know if there is a way to hook my Samsung N150 Verizon netbook or notebook to my tv to watch a movie from the laptop

If the netbook has an HDMI port, you can connect it to most flat screen tv's with an HDMI cable. If there is no HDMI port, then you cannot connect it to a tv.

Hope this helps!
