How to change thermostat

The Termostat fit inside the Termostat Housing. It normally links to one of the radiator hoses leading from the engine block or radiator. Depending on the model you have, the termostat housing needs to be opened, the old termostat removed and the new termostat inserted. It's quiet simple. Before closing up, make sure that the both surfaces on the housing are clean and free from dirt and old sealant. If you remove a gasket, then replace with new gasket. If the housing takes a rubber O ring, then it is advisable to replace this.

Good Luck

I have a honeywel t8002c termostat w heat already connected. The ac unit needs to b reconnected. Two wires for the ac to b connected. Was connected before but moved the termostat thus winter and didnt...

You need to connect to the Y terminal and the C terminal for A/C unit. The best was is to connect thermostat to furnace and then connect the two wires to A/C off furnace circuit board at Y and C terminal.

My a4 overheats really fast. While the radiator is cool

The problem may be air locked in the engine causing the thermostat not to open. You may need to bleed the water line some were near the termostat or if it doesn't have one you can run the car without the radiator cap on it for about 3 mins but make sure you are not running hot.then put the cap back on with the heater on blast when the air starts getting hot the termostat has open. If air dosen't get hot then try to do steps again ontil air is hot and temp is about normal. Hope this info helps

Termostat call for heat and it will not come on untill I hit the front of the unit

You have aloose wire somewhere in the unit. That could be very difficult to find. Take the cover off and carefully start to wiggle wires till you find it.

Fan only spin when It is manually turn blades.

That is a classic capacitor problem, It needs to be changed, a Tech should be able to do this relatively inexpensively. I'll explain how it;s done on the off chance that you can find a supply house that will sell one. Do all of this with electric off to unit. With a 5/16ths driver take out screws where the electric wires go in and remove panel, there will be a shiny silver container with wires coming out of it, make a diagram of which wires go to COM HERM FAN
The replacement has to be identical for example 370v 45uf 5uf. Don't accept one with different values than what's printed on it. Replace and Happy cooling!

Unit not coming on. air isn't getting cold

First check the breakers for the condensing unit (outside unit) and the disconect outside by the unit (could be a breaker ,a pull off/on switch or fuses)If its ok , you should have 220 ,240 volts to the unit contactor (you'll see it after removing the cover on the condensing unit). When the termostat is in the cold position and the temperature its set is lower than the one inside the house the contactor should be pulled in and give power to the compresor and the fan.But if the termostat is in the cooldest set and the blower inside the house works and the contactor in the condensing unit is not pull in the problem is in the termostat or in the low voltage wire.

Need to change the termostatic, this will make the car heat up, plus increase your fuel milage, plus check on changing the sending unit under the hood, that send the signal to the gauge.
