Why does the thinner belt stretch out after one use? This makes the head to not turn

When you replace the belt it has to be with the exact one that came with the unit or another generic one with the same physical characteristics.

If you do not do that, you will encounter problems.

I have a dc56, will the new tangle free turbine tool, part No 925068, fit it?

Hi Lyn, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC56, the new Dyson Hard vacuum cleaner, is engineered for quick cleanups on hard floor surfaces - wood, laminate, lino, tile etc. It also converts into a powerful handheld vacuum for dusting tasks around the home and inside the car.

The Dyson Hard is not designed for use on carpeted floors, and we do not manufacture a motorised head for this machine as it lacks the wiring and connections needed to supply current to a motorised head.

Airflow-driven Turbine heads, such as the Tangle-free Turbine tool, are engineered to work with the performance characteristics of our mains-powered vacuum cleaners, and are not compatible with Dyson cordless or handheld vacuums.

However, we do have a range of accessories which are compatible with DC56, and you can find these on our website:

Why does it not fit?

Hi Clint, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC24 is not compatible with the original Mini turbine head as this tool is engineered to work with the performance characteristics of our full size upright and canister vacuums.

However, we do make a Mini turbine head which is compatible with DC24 - for help ordering this, I would encourage you to contact us directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA). Once we've taken the serial number of your machine we'll be able to confirm the correct Mini turbine head for your vacuum.

We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Renny starts as soon as the unit is plugged in....leave the hose off and the unit will not start until the hose is connected

This is a problem that needs to be checked at an Aerus Electrolux store. They have the tech manuals to troubleshoot the specific problems with the Renny (Renaissance). There are three possible problems involving the electronics in either the hose handle or the canister.
When the problem was first noted, customers brought their vacuums in and the service managers simply replaced the hoses. That resulted in burning out the boards in either the new hose or the vacuum, increasing the cost of warranty repair/part replacement. Electrolux quickly sent out service updates letting the service personnel know to stop the practice immediately. I can't remember how long it took before we finally got the proper troubleshooting data, but yes, there were a lot of problems with many of the machines. Fortunately for the store I worked at, there weren't many.

I have just purchased a wireless doorbell but it does not explain how to change the tune, please help.

Most wireless Door bells go ding-dong! Does your doorbell play Greensleves, or Home on the Range?

Did you get 2 buttons with it?
One is for the front, which makes the bell chime one way and the other is for the rear and it makes it chime differently.

I need a user manual for a Heliotrope CC-60 charge controller.

Your CC-60 is available in at least 5 versions, each has different characteristics.

Heliotrope has suspended operations, but tech services may still be available. Manufacturer - Official Master Distributor Distributor

Contact HT first, see if they have a manual they can email or fax, then just go down the line. Homepower did a review of your controller (initial version), and they might have a manual laying around as well. Contact HomePower at

Roomba's deck height adjustment string broke

You can solve this problem if you are on the handy side. I had the same problem and fixed it, allowing Roomba to live until getting an all-too-characteristic fatal brain problem later.

You have to open up Roomba and guage the original length of its string. You'll need to make a replacement and cut the first one off. The shaft around which the original rolled to adjust the height is where you must affix the new one. It's a bit tough and you have to be creative (like screwing the string into the chassis with your own screw after drilling a pilot hole) but if you get the length of string right it will wind and unwind just like the original.

I wish I could be a bit more specific but it's been a long time since I pulled this fix. If you're not a tinkerer, don't try it because it is a bit difficult. Best of luck.
