Question about Watches

1 Answer

End-of-life indicator for Victorinox Night Vision II watch - I seemed to remember that the watch battery can be monitored through the red LED that blinks every 10 secs. when it is OK, if the battery needs to be replaced then it will blink 3 times every 10 secs. The red LED still blinks every 10 secs. but the watch has now completely stopped (occasionally was observed that the second-hand was sliding every 5 seconds just for a while before completely stopped too). Is this an indication of a malfunction of the watch or the battery is just simply dead and needed to be replaced, if so, which battery type is for the watch ? and which battery type for the lights function ? Thank you - PI

Not a malfunction - just a dead battery. See the manual:

Does the Tissot PR516 T044.417.21.051.00 use a battery? My second hand is not moving when i start the timer and the night vision is terrible.

Yes, it does require a battery. I believe a 394 is the correct one to fit, but I'd suggest you took it to a professional rather than attempt a battery change yourself. I hope this helps.

What kind of battery does a victorinox officer's 1884 watch use

It might say on the back cover of the watch, if not, when you carfully pry the back of the watch off, you will see the battery, and it will say on the battery what it is.

The second compass of my victorinox night vision 2 jumps each 4 seconds, the distance on 4 seconds. is it a problem of battery?

This type of movement is typical of the indication used by watch makers to warn that the battery is running low and should be replaced soon.

The movement on the second hand is jumping every 5 seconds instead of every second, however the time is still correct.

Many high end quartz watches have a feature called the EOL or end of life indicator. This causes the seconds hand to jump 2, 3 or 5 seconds depending on the make of watch when the battery life is low. The watch will continue to keep accurate time until the battery dies completely. So, when you see your seconds hand jumping multiple seconds it is time to get a battery.

Hello i changed the battery on my dakota angler II and the only thing that works is the red light, no time analog and or digita, none of the buttons do anything except the red one for the light.

Did you change the battery yourself? Did you have instructions? The reason I ask is only because some watches/etc have more the one battery for various functions. Sometimes there are more batteries underneatch the battery you replaced.
I would call the manufacturer and ask them if you have the number.

The second hand jumps forward every 5 seconds but the watch still keeps time OK.

You need to replace battery.
Q/A from swiss army website.
Q. How do I know when the battery needs changing?
A. In select models, the battery end-of-life indicator signals that the battery should be replaced within two or three days. When the battery is low, the second hand stands still for 2-4 seconds, and then speeds up to the correct time. This indication will last for approximately one week, and then the timepiece hands stand still.

Second hand doesn't move for each second

Your TAG is fitted with EOL (end of life) feature. This is the cause of that 4 seconds interval movement of seconds hand and thus indicating the time for battery replacement. The timekeeping is not affected by this- it is just warning to replace battery a.s.a.p.
Find your nearest watchmaker and ask for battery replacement.

Do not forget to rate, please.
