Humming noise from my surround sound Bravia 1080 HD TV

I have a loud humm that happens when I turn on my tv - it is constant and increases if I turn up the volume.  Is it somehow related to the Wii?  It seemed to start this when we hooked that up into the system.
Also is it perhaps some setting on the remote?  It seems to me that it was intermittent for a while .

It's not your wii. It's the TV. I have the same problem. I just hooked it up. With nothing attached to it. If you increase the back lighting on the quick menu to 5 or 6 it goes away. Of course this affects the lighting of the picture which may or may not be bad. Either way it shouldn't be happening. I have a service rep coming out to take a look at it. I am pretty sure he will say there is nothing he can do about it. This seems to be common with this TV. I have seen alot of this same problem from other people online.

I have the same problem and my tv isn't a year old. It has a loud humming sound and Sony told me that it is the cable box. I returned the cable box for a new one and the problem still exists. Any ideas because I'm not getting any where with Sony.

I had a similar problem with my Sony Bravia 40S2000.....

Access the 'tools' menu via the remote......change the power setting to 'low'....and presto!....the humming noise stops!

It sounds like to me that either you don't have a good ground on the connection to the television from the wii, or possibly the tv has a problem due to hooking and unhooking up the wii. Pretty common problem actually. Try a different input and see if problem goes away and that will tell us the answer to your problem. Cheers. GURU JAY.

Problems with hearing sound from bravia LCD tv through bravia DAV-HDX275 theatre system

The fiber optic port on back on your bravia tv is only for when your using a over the air antenna and watching local atsc channels in your local market. You need to run the fiber optic from your hd cablebox if it has one or your hd sat box if it has one. If you don't have a set top box with the fiberoptic port on it you can use a digital coax cable from the cable or sat box to sound system. The only other way to get sound if you don't have a cable or sat box is to run the red and white rca audio cable from the tv to the sound system and got to the audio setup on tv and turn the tv speakers off and you might have to adjust the audio to fixed instead of variable.

Constant humming/buzzing noise

I purchased a poloroid tv 3732 in may of 2005 from circuit city, after about 14 months the set began making a clacking sound and humming sound that gets so loud it is unbareable. I have to turn the set off. I have found out I am not the only one with this problem that has a poloroid tv. I had a technician at my home that told me there is a service warranty on these sets because the wrong part was used and the part needs to be replaced.

Loud Humming

It's possible a fan or a hard drive is going bad. When the bearings in those devices start to go out they a start making noises like that.
