Clutch problem allen national 68 triple ride on mower

We have an allen national ride on triple blade mower. We haven't used it for a while and when we got it going the other day, it wouldn't go into gear because the rear blades are engaged and won't disengage. any idea what the problem could be and how we can fix it?

    hi

thanks for your suggestion. I will try that, but I don't know where the gear oil goes - I can't see anywhere to put it. Sorry to appear so dim, but any suggestions?

Also the clutch/break pedal seems to have a lot of free play. Should I be tightening that up?

    Thanks

I just bought an old John Deere 68 riding mower but it does not cut grass even though the blade spins when engaged. I made sure the blade was on correctly but it still doesn't cut. I noticed the pulley...

Are you sure it is the correct blade and when it is turning the sharp edge is on the leading side? A spinning blade will cut grass even if the blade is dull. Did you lower the deck to the correct level?

The mower starts but the blade switch won't conect yth1542xp

Husqvarna uses an electronic clutch to engage the mower deck. When the clutch works itself out of adjustment it will quit working. Sometimes it will blow the 20 fuse and the tractor will continue to run, but the blade won't engage. When you then shut off the tractor it won't crank again until you replace the fuse. When you attempt to engage the blades again, the fuse will blow again.

Follow this link for a detailed description of the adjustment process:

Blades wont engage on a john deer riding mower

May be a safety switch not letting the PTO engage the clutch? Also check your voltage at the battery...too low a voltage won't let the clutch engage either. Should be between 13.3-14v at full throttle.

Toro 216 triple mower . the electric clutch will not switch off leaving the blades in drive all the time . can the clutch be striped down and repaired

the switch where the blades are engaged try to unplug from the back of the switch if the blades are still engaged after you unplug the switch then the clutch is at fault. If the blades disengage and shut off after you unplug the switch then all you need is the switch!! The clutch can be repaired but the parts are very hard to get if you can even find them!

My john deere riding mover the clutch will not disengage it still keep going.any solutions

With the engine OFF, reach underneath and locate the plug for the blade clutch and unplug it. Start up the mower and see if the blades are turning. If they are still turning with the clutch unplugged, REPLACE THE CLUTCH

My blades wont engage and just hear click sound?

No permanent solution, but you probably can get by once by "riding" the clutch engagement lever - pushing it only part way forward and holding onto it.

Blades won't spin on Craftsman II riding mower

get some one to sit on it and holding the brake try engaging the clutch...now with out getting to close laying down you can see if the linkage is working right....might just be a missed belt wheel.
