Do you use your real name in your email address? Do you store your password in Explorer? Do any of your friends know your password or have access to the place where you may have written it? If your answer to any of these is "yes", you might want to change it to "no" in the future. Do you have a password with at least 8 characters, with one of the characters being a capital letter (preferably not the first one), and one being a number? Do you use a wireless laptop without a router? Do you have adequate virus protection on your computer and is your virus program constantly updated? Is your Windows program set to update automatically or do you update it often? If your answer to any of these is "no", you might want to change it to "yes" in the future.

I should say "yes" to most of your questions for the first part similarly "no" for the second part. I now realise that I have made an attempt to join in a new linked in group based on the invitation from my friends mail. I could not complete all the informations required in that application also. but some of my friends asked me about my invitation to that particular net work for which I did not sent any such invitation. May be it was one of the reasons?

There's a high chance that your email account has been compromise. Try to immediately change your password, in creating a password be sure to mix it up with uppercase letters, use numbers and other characters such as ^&*)_ and make it a minimum of 10 characters. That way it will be very very hard for anyone to hack your account. I also suggest connecting it with an alternate email so you can easily retrieve your account just in case your email got hacked. Another suggestion is install a very good computer software protection (anitivirus, anti-spyware etc) because there are malwares that can fetch your password even if you have the strongest password and there are also programs that can record all your keystroke. Bottomline, to be completely secured keep your password strong and computer clean at all times.

I cannot send e-mails to aol customers

What happens when you try?

EXACTLY what error-message do you get?

Try sending a message to 'abuse@aol.com' -- your E-mail should be "accepted", although I have _NEVER_ received a response from that 'abuse' ID. Do you get an error-message when you try to send to that ID?
