The rear bearing will eventually fail and drop the drum into the heating element. You need to inspect the innards. Here is a PICTORIAL

Dryer makes loud whirring noise when try turn on, won't start

I am guessing that it does not do anything after it makes the noise?. If you hear something running after the whirring noise, but the drum is not turning it is possible the belt has broken or slipped off the motor pully. If you hear no noise after the first startup and it completely stops making any sounds then it may be a motor problem. I am no pro, just a do it yourselfer. can help ya more than me. Just have the model number ready when you go there and look at the symptoms. Hope this helps.

IGNIS dryer makes too much noise

idler wheel bearing probably shot. if you can get the back off, you should be able to see the wheels on the bottom sides of the drum. they are just held on with a bolt. may be able to find parts on line

Whirlpool gas dryer makes a lot of noise

This sounds like the support rollers are either loose or worn out.

Turn off the power, shut off the gas, pull the unit away from the wall carefully, and remove the back of the dryer.

Look around the perimeter of the drum and you will see the rollers. There should be 3. If they wobble or the rubber on the rollers is worn down, they are bad and need replacing. While you're in there, inspect the motor, belt, and drive assembly to be sure it's solid.

An appliance shop or parts outlet can usually provide these parts for your unit.

My whirlpool dryer will run full cycle when empty but not when loaded, it stops and each time i start it the time it runs is less and less

sounds like you have a bad motor, does it make a noise like a buzz sound and it just sits there, overloading can do this and another thing that kills them is when they get covered with lint and dust, when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?you should clean it at least once a year, you gotta clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of the dryer where the motor is,a shop vac works great because they blow air on one side and **** air on the other, blow off the motor and blow the lint from the back to the front so you don't have to pull the drum, then clean out the vent line,if it's a long run blow it out with a leaf blower, alot of people don't know that the dryer has to be cleaned out like this, could have a fire!you can check the pulley and the rollers but sounds like the motor
