I have a laars jandy 250 lt gas pool heater that only heats luke warm. The heater cycles normally then heats up but stops before reaching operating temp. No service lights and thermal switches are g

I do not have a handy but mine has a temperature setting at the heater and one on the remote. it is possible that one of the settings is low. the pool or spa temp is sensed at the heater and with the water temp located in the pool lines. so both the control board and the heater are sensing the water temperature.

Error c4-15 what does that mean

Before calling service technician, copy following link for troubleshoot resources:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

C4 can range from failed PC Board to lime build-up inside heat exchanger
Error 15 is 'heat exchanger is too hot', clogged heat exchanger, restriction in cold water inlet, temperature set point too high.
If you recently changed temperature setting, then that might be cause.
Tankless require monthy-to-yearly maintenance to avoid common error codes.
Delime tankless and clean water filter, keep temperature low.
Never install tankless water heater is best way to avoid complications of expensive water heater that is maintenance heavy, hard to diagnose, expensive to fix, etc.
Never expose tankless to more than 11 grains hard water.

Oven Pre-heats too high

Your oven sensor has gone bad and telling the control board/thermostat to keep heating. Find the model number on the range and go to a parts distributor like repairclinic.com or apdepot.com and order you sensor. This is an easy repair.

Heating element not coming on

Since the heating element turns on when the heater relay on the control board is bypassed, the problem must be the control thermistor. It is the one on the wiring diagram inside a circle and located on the blower housing. The indicated resistance of 50000 ohms is the resistance of the thermistor at room temperature. It goes down as the dryer heats up and when the dryer temperature is too hot and the thermistor resistance is too low, the control board turns off the heater relay.

The problem here must be the control thermistor. Its resistance must be too low or even shorted thereby making the control board "think" the dryer is too hot and therefore does not turn on the heater relay at all. Check the resistance of the control thermistor which must be around 50000 ohms at room temperature. Measure the resistance with the thermistor connected and disconnected. If the resistance is good when disconnected but not when connected, then the wires must be shorted somewhere else since the control board has been replaced. Locate the short circuit or simply replace the wire harness.

Heater will not heat spa to more than 98 Heater is 2yrs old

could be a couple of reasons either your temp control is set at 98 or your temperature sensors in the heater are all corroted check the hi-limits on the right side of heater where your in and out manifold is its sitting directly on it underneath theres two silver flap caps with two screws in each replace those if there corroted or broke it also could be the temperature sensore inside the heater on the top right side open back of board and fallow the two black wires that are labeled sens its a brass probe with a rubber gasket that goes inside manifold where water discharges

Hobart LXIH stuck in Wash mode after running multiple loads. Shutting off breaker for several hours fixes problem until multiple loads have been run again and then it is once more stuck in Wash mode.

How long does it stay in the wash cycle? Indefinitely? Does the display continuously show "WASH"?. If it stays in the wash cycle indefinitely (i.e. continuously shows "WASH" for significantly beyond approx. 3 minutes), it's probably a control board malfunction. If it continues to wash after the "WASH" indicator goes out, it could be a shorted wash motor relay on the relay board or a fauly control board.

If the internal rinse water booster heater doesn't reach it's programmed setpoint temperature in time, the dishwasher will run an extended wash cycle to give the booster heater more time to finish heating the rinse water. If this is what's happening, the wash cycle would last approximately 3 minutes, then it would rinse regardless of whether the booster heater has finished heating or not.

The booster temperature thermistor may be bad, giving a false booster temperature reading, causing an extended wash cycle as described above. The booster heater elements or contactor may be bad, preventing the booster heater from heating and reaching proper temperature, also causing the same extended wash cycle to give the booster more time to heat.

Here is a simple way to tell. Remove your thermostat from it's mounting plate, locate the wiring, the red and white are low voltage control wires. Disconnect them from the base and join the two together if the furnace runs you need a thermostat if not it is in the controls to the furnace.

Readings disappear on thermostat for awhile then come back

Hi Linda,

There are a few things that cause this:

  1. When the heat is starting, it will sometimes go blank for a few minutes and then resume.
  2. Most have batteries, replace them with fresh new ones, if the electricity goes out while you are away, the batteries will keep the settings.
  3. Have someone check the house when it is extremely cold or hire a service to monitor. Your alarm company can usually add temperature sensors to your home, it will add a little safety net for you.
Hope this was helpful, please rate my answer.
Thanks,
Paul
