Their are many varibales that go into this and your gas company should be able to help you with this. They will quite often send someone out to check for you as they get to sell you more gas if you run the heater. But you need tank size, pipe size, run of pipe, local weather to name some of the things along with all other appliences in the house. So you do need to have it sized by a pro on the job site.

I wish I could tell you a part number and a supplier but I can only recommend contacting your propane company or a licensed LP Gas plumber. Either one will need to know pool heater information. I hope this helps.

Hi what size and kind of regulator do i need for my hayward propane H250 pool heater i have 2 100 lbs tanks

This is something your gas company should figure and supply for libality reasons. they will be responseable for any damage done from improper pressure. They will need to figure along with heater size and tank size, pipe size and run of pipe along with other varebeles like number and type of fittings on line and other appliences on the feed.

Low pressure from regulator when heater comes on, drops down to 5.0 regulator has been adjusted all the way, but still drops

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Assuming you have testing the pressure on the inlet side of the valve and it is within the correct range you will need a new valve. Be certain prior to ordering such a part that you have thoroughly checked inlet gas pressure and that you are certain the tank size, tank regulator and piping all conform to the necessary sizes for your installation.

Hooking up a pool heater to propane.

A pressure regulator and pipe or hose. Whoever is selling you the tank/propane should be able to help you size everything based on the tank hook-up and tank pressure. The heater nameplate will tell you the proper inlet gas pressure that the regulator will need to reduce the tank pressure to.
