Try using a stiff piece of card to run through the print path to dislodge the cotton.

Paper not going through and when it does it jams

Clean the entire printer of old paper, and bits and paper. You will be surprised how often a little piece of paper is stuck somewhere. Buy a bright LED torch, keep by printer ,so can check carefully.
Try a thinner paper, 70gsm. Thicker paper jams more often.
Buy fresh pack of paper. Paper gets wet. Old paper jams.
If older printer then the rollers might be dirty and sticky. Can use a cotton bud to wash with alcohol. Otherwise put your paper in a closed container and keep it dry. If damp/humid , then the paper gets sticky.
I am a finance whistleblower and have used some 10 printers and 1 10,000$ photocopier, all worn out. Sometimes just got to go buy a printer.
Buy the most cheapest printer. When it dies, go buy another. That way never loose money on big scan/print/fax dog printers. Use a local fax company and photocopy company - let them wear out their printers.
God bless John

Mfc-8870dw duplex unit keeps jamming paper in the duplex tray

there are little rollers that grab the paper they can be worn out or debris on them causing it to jam. you can clean with alcohol and cotton swab. Otherwise you may need to bring it somewhere for service as there are a lot of mechanical pieces and hard to find out what is causing it to jam.

In case I insert a tape and start playing the mashine produces atape jam.

clean the capstan roller ,head as they are filled with dust and dirt accumulated on them and cause the tape to malfunction and jam ...you can simply open/eject the cover from where you insert /load the cassette then use a cotton bud dipped in methyl spirit/alcohol and carefully clean the roller and head after you are done use the other side of the cotton bud to remove excess of cleaning agent from them ..allow them to dry for five minutes keeping the cover open and then insert your tape again and enjoy the music without any break/jam.. just don't forget to clean your head, capstan roller once a month if you listen to tape regularly..... to maintain the long life of the player ..

Please see this solution from Canon. It is recommended you check your manual for the proper procedure for clearing paper jams. Incorrectly removing jams could damage your printer. Trust the following helps resolve your current issue.

If you do not have a manual it can be downloaded from here:

Issue: More than one sheet of paper feeds while printing

Solution: Clean the paper feed rollers using the MX300 operator panel

sikaku.gif Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller (Roller Cleaning) Clean the paper feed roller if paper is not fed properly. Cleaning the paper feed roller will wear the roller, so perform this only when necessary.

1. Make sure that the machine is turned on, and then remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2. Clean the paper feed roller.

(1) Press the Menu button repeatedly until MAINTENANCE appears.

(2) Press the l_mark_s.jpg or r_mark_s.jpg button to select ROLLER CLEANING, then press the OK button.

The paper feed roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

3. Repeat step 2 twice.

4. Open the Paper Output Tray.

(1)Put your finger in the rounded indent beside the Paper Output Tray and open it gently.

(2) Open up and set the Output Tray Extension completely by pressing down the hollow on its front side.

5. Make sure that the paper feed roller stops rotating, then load three or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in portrait orientation in the Rear Tray.

Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left.

6. Repeat step 2 three times.

The paper cleans the paper feed roller as it feeds through the machine.

If the problem is not resolved, wipe the paper feed roller (A) located on the right side inside the Rear Tray with a moistened cotton swab or the like. Rotate the roller (A) manually as you clean it. Do not touch the roller with your fingers; rotate it with the cotton swab.

Have you tried cleaning the paper feed roller(s)? Either soap & water OR isopropyl alchohol with a cotton ball will do, just make sure the rollers are dry before trying to print again, otherwise damage to imaging unit (drum/toner unit) could occurr. If the printer doesn't feed in the first place, the printer thinks it has a jammed paper, thus opening paper tray and front cover resets misfeed/ jam condition. Let me know your progress....Tim

My Samsung CLP-510 printer shuts down frequently for paper jam. However, there is no paper jam. To fix, I turn off the power to the printer for 30 seconds and after turning the power back on the paper

give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

I have a Toyota Scion with a Pioneer T1805 that is giving me a Error 4 Message perodically which does not allow me to use the CD player. Help Please!

The most common problem of error messages is the lense and the roller. The roller is that moving back and port bringing the lense set,had already many dirt, that stock up of moving the roller. You better take out the unit from your car and open it .You clean the roller by using a lighter fluid or desame kind of that fluid and clean the lense with a cotton buds ,soak the cotton buds with a little plain water and after that , use a dry cotton buds to dry it out and in the roller take the old grease in the roller and replace it with a new grease .Use a type-A class grease. If you finish this all,i assume you that performance will be better.

X1270 paper feeding to right

If this printer uses rubber rollers to feed the paper through the printer, try using alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the rollers. That might help restore the 'grip' on the paper.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice.

Good luck!!
