I will post instructions here on how to enter but would like to know the reason you replaced the eeprom?

With a new one you are going to have to adjust geometry and a complete alignment will take hours.

Here are instructions

With the set on press MUTE on the remote.

Then press and HOLD mute for several seconds and while still holding it on the remote press Menu on the front of the set.

A (S) should appear in the upper right corner of the screen. (It means you are in the Service mode)

Press menu again on the front of the set

7 on the remote will call up the convergence grid

3 on the remote will change the color to adjust from red to green to blue(do not adjust GREEN)

You navigate the grid with 2, 4, 6, and 8 buttons.

To stop the cursor from blinking so you can adjust at any point use the 5 button—to move again use the 5 button.

Once the cursor stops blinking you use the 2, 4, 6 and 8 buttons to adjust. 2 should adjust upwards, 8 down, 4 to the left and 6 to the right.

When you finish you exit by hitting 7 on the remote again.

Sometimes you have to try a few times to get into the menu—I have had my problems but once in it is easy.:

Note the instructions were posted when I answered this problem--if you cannot see them let me know and I will post them again.

You may have to contact Toshiba----each of these sets has a way to enter a specific number which will release the lockout but it is different on different models and I do not know the code for this set.

This seems to be a different issue than what we started with--hopefully the problem did not happen because you pressed a wrong button while in the tech menu.

How to reset eeprom(service menu settings)

This is the reason I am careful about walking people into the tech menu on sets--one wrong move and poof!

If you by a miracle find the full service manual it would have the information needed (if set has this) for a hard reset---other wise you would have to try to with the manual reset every setting to factory one at a time...........

It seem like a convergence trouble. I tink it is a ITC222 chassis in this set. If it is, you probleme is eeprom for convergence need to be reprogrammed and cause no power on convergence board.

The convergence needs to be repaired. The 50H71 convergence kit works in your model as well. You can get the kit at the following link which contains the parts and instructions.

42H83 Convergence

Yes the convergence ICs need to be replaced, however so dont the six 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors as Toshiba recomends replacing those six resistors when the ICs are changed. You can get the 50H71 / 50H82 Convergence repair kit as the 42H83 is identical to the 50H71 series, so the kit will work for your model. Heres the link where you can get the kit.

Toshiba 50h71 red light after fixing the convergence chips

Did you check to be certain none of the resistors were burned or open that power the ICs ? This is fairly common for one or two of the convergenvce resistors to be open when the ICs go out. Also double check the iC pins to insure that none of the pins are bridged with solder. If you need more assistance please let me know.

Service mode for convergence

You enter the service menu by using the remote. Press DISPLAY, 5, VOL+, POWER in rapid succession. Once the screen appears, you should notice green letters and numbers at the top of the screen. Your remote acts as a navigation tool to allow you to select and change values. Keys 1 and 4 change the Item, keys 2 and 5 change the Category, and keys 3 and 6 change the Value. MUTE enters the write function, and ENTER executes it. Power exits the service menu. Keep in mind that while in the convergence mode, the keys have different functions, which we'll get to in due time. The service manual will also have this information.
