All I want to do is to change my code on my outside key pad to my craftsman garage door opener key pad.

Here is what you do.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

How to change the password on the key pad for a garage door opener model number 13918415

Quick response. Thanks.

To program the keypad first unplug the garage door opener from the electrical outlet. Next remove the nameplate from the console that the keypad plugs into and locate the program/operate switch. Flip the switch to program. Next enter your desired four-digit PIN into the keypad. Slide the switch back to operate and plug the garage door opener back in. The keypad should be programmed.

Two codes open door

You must hold that red button in for 6 seconds to erase the memory. Just remember you will have to program your hand remotes plus the wireless keypad.

The lights on my Chamberlain garage door open remain ON all the time.

Easyer then that, you die!

Get on your step ladder, ( if you don't have on, get on *********** in-law's back for a change,) ,

press the read button of your unit (motor) and a led should light up,

key in the new code on your key pad, then press the enter button of the key pad,

the light of the unit should blink and the job is done, unless you are standding on *********** in-law's back then repeat all the a/n instruction, question of makking sure it is done right, lol,

Seriously, this is the only way I know to re-program them, if you don't want the lost code to be used by someone that might know it, do a reset on the unit before keying in the new code.

Remember, if you reset the unit, you have to re-enter all of your garage door remote control of that specific unit

Have fun!

Garage door key pad

For most openers you don't need the old code.

Just press the program button on the powerhead enter the code you want in the keypad and press enter (within 20 seconds).

Garage Door Key Pad

Assuming, from what I read, the remote works..The inside switch is just a doorbell switch which will wear out or have the contacts get bent or dirty. Take off wall, and change for new one or see if the contacts can be cleaned or adjusted. If the pad is electronic (coded) the wires may be bad or the control defective. Usually momentary contact of the two wires will cause the door to actuate.
