The modem is not functioning, after the computer self

Well might be there is a fault in modem or it is disconnected with the system. But its rare that system even doesn't available to trace the Modem in the system. however it is highly recommended that you must download and reinstall the motherboard Drivers like system Management, Utility and of course modem Driver from the HP website by using your laptop Service Tag.

INC means the self tests that the ODB system runs are incomplete. N/A means those systems are not tested on your vehicle. If all codes are reset/cleared, or if the battery has been disconnected, the computer will run all the diagnostic tests to establish that the systems are working properly. In most states, most of these tests must be completed with no trouble codes detected before passing inspection. You will have to run the car through a number of 'drive cycles' to get all the tests completed.

Have a desktop windows 8 model 110-023w I get message about Fan Not Detected and have to hit F1 to boot


This is self-protection message from the BIOS/CMOS. It is stating that it is not detecting the presence of a CPU fan (no rotation). Thus it is not starting the processor to prevent overheating. If you F1 the system you will force the processor to start, it will overtemp, and then shut down automatically anyway. You need to check the CPU fan and repair.replace as necessary.

What is bios?


A BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is an electronic set of instructions that a computer uses to successfully start operating. The BIOS is located on a chip inside of the computer and is designed in a way that protects it from disk failure.
A main function of the BIOS is to give instructions for the power-on self test (POST). This self test ensures that the computer has all of the necessary parts and functionality needed to successfully start itself, such as use of memory, a keyboard and other parts. If errors are detected during the test, the BIOS instructs the computer to give a code that reveals the problem. Error codes are typically a series of beeps heard shortly after startup.

WHEN MONITORED: Immediately after a cold start, with battery/ambient temperature between 4.4 °C (40 °F) . F and 32 °C (90 °F) . Coolant temperature within -12 °C (10 °F) of battery/ambient

SET CONDITION: The state of the solenoid circuit does not match the PCM's desired state.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
* Wiring Harness Intermittent

* LDP Solenoid Control Circuit Shorted To Ground
* LDP Solenoid Control Circuit Open

Leak Detection Pump System
The evaporative emission system is designed to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, even small ones, can allow fuel vapors to escape into the atmosphere. Government regulations require on-board testing to make sure that the evaporative (EVAP) system is functioning properly. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage. It also performs self-diagnostics. During self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system.

SYMPTOM: P1490-LOW SPEED FAN CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT
WHEN MONITORED: With the ignition ON. Battery voltage greater than 10 volts .

SET CONDITION: An open or shorted circuit is detected in the radiator fan relay control circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

* Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit

Notes
The Transmission/Transaxle Controller monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to Transmission/Transaxle Control. If any malfunction is detected, they inform the PCM by sending a signal - By illuminating the MIL and by setting the P0700 code.

P0700 means that a code has been set in the Transmission/Transaxle Controller. If P0700 is present, check for Transmission/Transaxle codes.

Electronic Automatic Temperature Control Module Self-Test
  • The EATC module self-test will not detect concerns associated with data link messages like engine coolant temperature or vehicle speed signals. A diagnostic tool must be used to retrieve these concerns.
  • The EATC module self-test will detect concerns in the system control functions and will display hard diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in addition to intermittent diagnostic trouble codes for concerns that occur during system operation. The vehicle interior temperature should be between 4°-32°C (40-90°F) when carrying out the self-test. If the temperatures are not within the specified ranges, false in-car temperature sensor DTCs will be displayed.
  • The self-test can be initiated at any time. Normal operation of the system stops when the self-test is activated.
  • To enter the self-test, press the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and then press the AUTOMATIC button within two seconds. The display will show a pulse tracer going around the center of the display window. The test may run as long as 30 seconds. Record all DTCs displayed.
  • If any DTCs appear during the self-test, follow the diagnostics procedure given under ACTION for each DTC given.
  • If a condition exists but no DTCs appear during the self-test, GO to Symptom Chart Condition: The EATC System Is Inoperative, Intermittent or Improper Operation.
  • To exit self-test and retain all intermittent DTCs, push the blue (cooler) button. The control will exit self-test, retain all intermittent diagnostic trouble codes and then turn OFF (display blank).
  • To exit the self-test and clear all DTCs, press the DEFROST button. The vacuum fluorescent display window will show 888 and all function symbols for one second. Then, the EATC control assembly will turn OFF (display blank) and all DTCs will be cleared.
  • Always exit the self-test before powering the system down (system turned OFF).
  • Intermittent DTCs will be deleted after 80 ignition switch ON cycles after the intermittent condition occurs.
