In order to release the latch mechanism you need to either get inside the door or you need to get to the top of the cabinet of the dishwasher. The screws that hold your dishwasher into the cabinet are up under the lip of the cabinet. The door may be in the way of getting a screwdriver in to get the screws out so that you could slide the dishwasher forward to see the latch on top of the case of the dishwasher. You might be able to get a right angel screwdriver into the space between the door and the cabinet and work those screws out. You may have to remove the bottom panel on the dishwasher and screw the legs up a bit in order to pull the dishwasher forward. If you get the dishwasher forward, you may have to disassemble the latch mechanism enough to get the door open. Then comes the problem of figuring out what caused the latch to stick. I hope this will help you resolve your immediate problem

My Ariston LS601 Dishwasher door wont open after completing it's cycle?

The door handle is broken from the inside of the panel. When this happens the door latch cannot release.
They are often tricky to open as each machine has a different latch design.
First disconnet machine from power source.
With the aid of a torch, look inside where the door handle is and also from the top of the door. Use a long thin flat screw driver and see if you can free the latch. Do not force it as you may break more parts within the panel.
If you manage to open the door, then you need to order the door handle kit and replace it. Again this is a tricky job, so if you are not confident call a dishwasher repairer.
I can help you more if you have questions.

How do you open door when handle is broken? The handle is loose, not attached.

That the handle out by gently pulling one side out, then take vise grips and pull the little wire that attaches to the handle.

My dishwasher handle is broken and i can't open the door, it is bolted to the counter and i can't unscrew it to pull it out because i cannot open the door

Even with a broken handle, you S H O U L D be able to press the Open latch with a screw driver (flat blade).
If that fails, you can use the screwdriver to force the fastening screws out of the underside of the cabinet (or use a hack saw blade to saw through the screws ...and then pull the dishwasher out....

HOWEVER, you will still need to open the latch with a screwdriver - removing the dishwasher from the cabinet location will not make it easier to open the door

Dishwasher door will not open

You will have to remove the mounting screws holding the dishwasher in place. Then pull the dishwasher out of the space a couple inches.
You can then activate the door catch from the top to open the dishwasher.
Once you have it open,
You will have to open the control panel by removing the 6 screws across the top inside of the door. You can then examine the door latch assembly to find out what part is at fault.

Broken maytag door latch assembly Maytag quiet series 300: the latch is not working, door is closed and cannot open, seems something snapped inside, how can I open the door ? and change the broken part ?

To open this latch, the handle works as a lever to push inward when you push up on the handle. If your handle if broken, it has probably ceased to work as a lever (the pivot pins have likely broken). You want to push in on the handle to open the latch, ideally toward the bottom of the handle opening. Once you get the latch open, you'll likely want to order a replacement (here is one source : ). Remember to turn off the power to the dishwasher, and you'll need a star head driver to remove the screws from the inside of the door to access and replace the latch.

Dishwasher door will not open.tried running it another cycle and still nothing. It is a GE profile with the latch that you just push in. The latch/handle seems stiff.

The plastic latch release inside the door handle is broken. Most likely one of the pins holding it in place has broken.

First go to your local dishwasher supplier and look at a similar brand (GE Profile in my case) and see how the mechanism works. Next, get a thin pair of siccors, pull the dishwasher handle down and slid the siccors into the opening above the handel and push the tab holding the door closed up so it will release.

Once the door is open, remove the inside of the door to get to the latch. Remove the plastic latch release and order a new one.
