2005 Samsung DLP HLP6163WX/XAA. Replaced Color Wheel less than a year ago. TV will turn on, may have picture (for some time) may not but picture is slower to come on screen when it does now. May stay on for 5 mins, may stay on all day. Getting worse about picture not coming on at all. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Already changed Bulb but no difference. Strange thing is that now once turned on, no green or red lights on on/off button center bottom of tv and the remote won't turn tv on or off, volume control on remote won't work either. Control module buttons on side of tv don't work either, even when tv is on and sound is working. Something's haywire and I am bound and determined to fix it myself but am in need of some advise. Any ideas? Ballast? Temp module? No strange noises to indicate color wheel again. Could there be something else causing the internal sensors to not read remote and controls on side of tv? I am lost but not giving up.

Regarding the tv turning, my question is, do you hear a clicking sound? if so, it's most probable tio be your ballast, that might not have enough voltage to keep on with your lamp, and that's why it shuts off.
You could try replacing it and seeing if it resolves your issue, I believe they're running around 70 dlls..
have a great one ! :)
Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek
Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast.
While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the
issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the
lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast).
After replacment most people stop having issues.
