I cant get my projector to play anything some times i get sound but no video. what can i try? all it is, is blue screen

You need to change the input source for where you are plugged into. My guess is that that you are getting audio because you have not matched the right video with the right audio pair on your projector. You have a blue screen so I know it is not the lamp.

Status light blinking

Sometimes the fan overheats. Pull the power plug out of the back for about 15 - 20 minutes. Then plug it back in. 95% of the time that will solve the blinking status light problem.

I pickd up my prjector while it was on. i turned it over an i head a POP and all the lights went on so i pulled the plug now it wont turn on... what is the prob?

The POP sounds typically means the project bulb blew (just like a typical light bulb). You can take it into a repair shop to have the bulb replaced.

I own a HP MP1900 projector and it wont turn on anymore...the bulb does not look blown and it never gave a going bad msg?

First check that the plug is in the socket and the power is switched on. (don't laugh, a friend did that just last week!) Next check if the fuse in the plug is OK. If you have no spare fuse try swapping one from another plug that you know does work. Next check the projector for signs of an inbuilt secondary fuse. These are often a circular access about 1to 1.5 cm across that screws out of the body of the projector. Hopefully one of these may cure your problem.

I cant get the message lamp life is ending off

Unplug your projector from the power source. Hold down the On/Standby button and the Menu buttons at the same time and plug the power back in as you are holding them down. This will reset the lamp hours used and should remove that message.

New bulb in now wont work - no power - wont turn on to reset lamp

first, make sure you have the correct lamp. the lamp for the xr-10x-l looks like the xr-10x, but the plugs are different (common mistake). make sure you have the AN-XR10L2/1, not the AN-XR10LP/1. to reset the lamp timer (with the projector plugged in but off), hold down the enter, down arrow, and menu buttons and press the power.

Removal of Lens housing

you can't get the front off without taking the top and back off. first, unscrew the 4 brass screws and 4 silver screws from the bottom and the 2 or 3 silver screws from the back. there are 3 clips that you can see through the vents at the top of the rear panel. use a small flathead screwdriver to unclip them and pull the back off. now unplug the plugs on both sides in the back. as you pull the pot up from the rear, pull out the bottom of the front panel and it'll come out as one piece. now you can give it all a good cleaning. use canned air. it's dry and there are no particles in it. when you replace the parts, detatch the front from the top using a pair of needle-nose pliers and unclip the front. put the top on first, plug in the plugs, then put on the front and back, and replace the screws.
