Question about Lands Phones

I am trying to install a RadioShack Wall Phone Mounting Plate. I don't know what colored wires go into which mounting strips. I have eight wires, blue, white, red, and green and 4 that are multi-colored.

The mounting plate I have is different than the one shown in the pictures. On the left side of the modular jack are even number wire mounting strips and on the right side of the modular jack are odd numbers. There are a total of 12 slots in which to place a wire. I don't know which wires to use as there was not a plate there originally.

Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

  • CactusDick Apr 06, 2008

The RadioShack Wall Phone Mounting Plate is Cat No 279-403. I think the last 3 digits referr to color. I did find it on the RadioShack web site.

I hope your child is doing better and will be out of the hospital soon.

  • paul proctor Apr 06, 2008

Is their any numbers on it so as i can narrow it down a bit ill tell you the main problem for me is that i live in uk so i have to research it first before i can help you as i dont want to give false or wrong info to you as that would just make the problem worse witch i dont thinks fair for either of us.

If their are no numbers or anything on it then is their a picture on the net that i can look at as this would help me help you.

Just please try and give me as much info as possible as one of my pet hates is to leave people hanging not knowing if anybody can help you, I dont like to give up i dont give up if i was doing the job myself so i dont think its right just not answering your comments leaving you thinking we cant help you.

Sorry its been a few days since i left a message but my kid has been in hospital in another part of england and just got back so sorry about that but i hope i can help with your problem and if i cant then i would tell you that and not leave you waiting for response.

Whilst waiting for your reply ill find out as much as i can.

  • paul proctor Apr 07, 2008

Also is it just one phone line your putting in i mean are you just having one phone installed or two or more different phone lines

  • paul proctor Apr 07, 2008

Did you have a phone wired in before because as far as i can tell you only need to use two of the wires to install one phone line on mine i have four wires blue/white white/blue orange/white white/orange on mine only the two blue wires are used

  • paul proctor Apr 07, 2008

Do you have a blue wire and a white/blue wire if you do then put blue in pin4 and blue/white in pin5 then try your phone if not working then swap these round the other way ok.

Let me know what happens if it dont work then let me know nad ill have another look the other wires are there if you have different phone lines like an office does but if its just home use and only one phone line then you only need to use 2 wires.
Let me know if i got it right about you only need 1 phone line or are you running more than 1 phone like an office would

Kenmore digital oven model 79095321303 temperature is wrong. Digital display on oven says 350 degrees but oven thermometer placed in center of oven (middle rack) shows 200 degrees. When I up the...

It could be one of two things either the control board or the temperature probe and I suspect the probe and that is a do it yourself job.

The oven temperature sensor on your Kenmore range is a one-piece unit that mounts to the rear oven wall with a mounting plate. The sensor is not difficult to change. You will need to dismantle the rear panel from the oven to access the mounting plate. Most appliance repair shops will have replacement sensors. It is a good idea to take the old sensor with you along with the model number of your oven. This way you will be sure to get the correct replacement sensor for your oven.

  • Unplug the Kenmore oven power cord from the wall outlet. Move the oven range away from the wall so that you can access the back of the unit. (Ask a friend to assist you to move the oven. if necessary.) The oven may use an anti-tip bracket on one of the rear legs. Push the oven toward the back wall to release the leg from the bracket in the floor. Tilt the back of the oven toward you, and pull the oven forward.

  • Remove the screws that secure the back panel to the oven with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the back panel away from the unit and set the panel out of the work area.

  • 3

Locate the mounting plate for the oven temperature sensor on the upper right side of the back of the oven. There will be a single wire coming from the back of the mounting plate and the wire mounts to a clip.

  • 4

Follow the wire to the connector on the other end. Pull the connector on the wire to disconnect the wire from the wiring harness.

  • 5

Remove the two screws that secure the mounting plate to the rear of the oven with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the temperature sensor straight out of the oven. Unclip the sensor wire from the mounting clip.

  • 6

Take the oven temperature sensor to an appliance repair facility to purchase a replacement. Insert the sensor end of the temperature sensor through the hole in the back of the oven. Slide the sensor all the way until the sensor mounting plate is flush against the oven. Secure the sensor with the two mounting screws.

  • 7

Connect the sensor wire to the connector by pushing the connector until it locks in place. Snap the wire inside the retaining clip.

  • 8

Place the back panel back over the rear of the oven and secure the panel with the retaining screws. Slide the Kenmore oven back into its working position and plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

    Flat Panel TV WallMounting Instructions
Currenttrends Flat Panel LCD and Plasma HDTV's are making TV's thinner, lighter andmore powerful. Superior high definition viewing, affordable pricing with addedspace and energy savings are only just a few practical reasons for purchasing anew HDTV. With newer thinner designs, LCD and Plasma HDTV's are ideal for wallmounting. Wall mounting your television frees up space and adds a new elementof aesthetic appeal to your home theater. Positioning Before getting into any hardware mounting, find the best possible position to mount your television. Because wall mountingan HDTV is more of a permanent solution, careful planning is needed whenintegrating the television into your home design.
Furniture placement, overall themes, viewing angles, and the best audiopositioning are all factors that will help determine the placement of the LCDor Plasma TV.
Once you have decided the general positioning of the wall mount installation, cut out a piece of cardboard or wrapping paper in proportion the of theflat panel television. Next, approximate the placement by taping the piece ofcardboard or wrapping paper to the wall where the TV will be placed and mark itwith a pencil.
Preparing the TV Removethe stand from the television and lay the TV on its face. Locate the fourmounting holes on the back of the television and remove the bolts. Next, removethe mounting arms or mounting plate from the wall mount packaging.
To attach mounting arms, line up the arms vertically and parallel to each otherusing the mounting holes on the back of the television. Make sure that they arein perfect alignment and bolt the arms using the bolts and washer supplied withthe wall mount.
If you are using a mounting plate, simply line up the holes with the mountingholes on the television. Secure the mounting plate with the bolts and washersincluded with your wall mount.
Preparing the Wall Locatethe studs closest to the desired position using a stud finder and mark themwith a pencil. Remove the wall mount from the package. Line up the wall mountup to the studs within the center of the marked position you determinedearlier. If it is not perfectly centered, wall mounts can be adjustedhorizontally at a later time.
Using a level, line up the wall mount and mark the positioning of where hebolts will go. Drill holes into the stud about 1" deep, drill bit depends on the of bolts supplied with the wall mount. Bolt the wall mountto the wall with bolts and washers, but don't tighten down the boltscompletely. Adjust the position of the wall mount left or right to center it toyour desired position. When you are done, tighten the bolts the rest of theway. Mounting the Television Attachingthe television to the wall mount takes two people. Simply lift the televisionand hook it to the wall mount. At this point you can further adjust thepositioning horizontally to center it perfectly. Once the desired position isacquired, tighten down the screws that attach the mounting arms or plate to thewall mount.

Batter wont charge, jeep idles for about a min then dies. Need to replace alternator, but dont know how

I have the same Jeep model 5.2L V8, to replace the alternator, check the next procedure...

Once the determination is made that the alternator is at fault, off vehicle testing can be used to determine the defective component inside the alternator.
    See Figures 1 through 11
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2. Remove the drive belt.
    3. If necessary, remove any splash shielding for easier access to the alternator.

Fig. 1: For easiest access to the alternator assembly, first remove the splash shield mounting fasteners ...

Fig. 2: ... then swing it out of the way for access to the alternator assembly

Fig. 3: View of the alternator electrical connections-(A) battery positive, (B) field terminals, (C) wire harness hold down, (D) ground terminal

    1. Tag and disengage the alternator wiring.
It may be necessary to remove the alternator and mounting bracket from the vehicle as an assembly.
    1. If equipped, remove the front alternator assembly mounting plate.

Fig. 4: Remove the six nuts and bolts that secure the front mounting plate to the alternator assembly

Fig. 5: Remove the front alternator assembly mounting plate from below the vehicle

    1. Unfasten the alternator mounting and pivot bolts and remove the alternator.
    2. If installing the original alternator assembly, push out the pivot bushing as illustrated.

Fig. 6: After removing the alternator assembly front mounting plate, remove the front engine-to-alternator bracket mounting stud

Fig. 7: Remove the two alternator bracket-to-engine mounting bolts

Fig. 8: Remove the alternator and mounting bracket assembly from the vehicle

    To install:

    1. Mount the alternator to the brackets with the nuts and bolts. Tighten the two mounting bolts and nuts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
    2. If the alternator and mounting bracket were removed as an assembly, install the assembly into the vehicle.
    3. If removed, install the front mounting plate.
    4. Engage the alternator electrical connections.
    5. If removed, install the splash shield.
    6. stall the drive belt and attach the negative battery cable.

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

Finally figured out the correct arrangement or configuration through trial and error (and my wife's puzzle solving ability). It sure wasn't clear in the instructions, and I could not get the needed information from the website of either the manufacturer of wall mount system or TV...a little frustrating, but perseverance paid off. Given the price of the wall mount, I would think they could do a better job.

We just installed a Hoover central vacuum system. As soon as we plug it in the system starts even if the switch is off. If we disconnect the wire the system goes off. What did we do wrong?

You have either left the manual switch at the vac in the on position, or you have a low voltage short at one of your inlets in the house, or at the vac itself or where a pair of wires are connected together at a pipe junction.
Carefully go back inlet to inlet, remove the plates and be sure your mounting screw is not shorting two wires together. Trim any excess bare wire away and look for nicks in the insulation as well unless you see an obvious short. If you are using telephone type multi colored wire it is easy to bare an inside piece of wire while stripping the outer insulation.
Also be sure sure wires are paired the same color pattern at each inlet.
It is common to see a stripped wire touching another inside the wall or if you have metal backing plates in the wall a wire may be touching the plate and triggering the vac to turn on. Post back to advise,
the other possibility is you have a nail or screw in a wall piercing the wire but this is seldom ...
take your time, its an easy fix but it might be hard to spot

R1381 Sharp Carousel over the range microwave

I know this is late, but I have instructions for this unit. Remove the grease filters on the bottom. Inside the exposed hole there should be two gold colored bars. These are attached to plates at the top of the until which hook onto the mounting plate. Undo the screws at the bottoms of the bars and pull them down. This will unhook the unit from the top of the wall plate. Roll the unit forward and unhook from wall plate.
