  • El Kyd Jan 11, 2009

I bought my PD 6070 last Summer (Jun 08)... I only wanted to use the divice for AM/FM.... Never got that to work (batteries charged). I was going to take back to the Shack, but forgot about it. NOW, I'm want to download some tunes... When I plug into my USB port, I hear the "Dong" acknowledgement from my PC.... However nothing happens! No menu pops up on my screen... I see the Blue connection lit on the divice showing me 'good' connection. Lastly, when I bring up "My Computer" the device is NOT shown. Go figure.... This is messed up... too late to get my $$$$ back! HELP... Kyd

I believe this will solve the problem:

Go to the Mymusix website and download the player update utility(located here:http://mymusix.mmvoice.com/products/audio/PD-6070/software.html )
install it, then use these instructionshttp://mymusix.mmvoice.com/products/audio/PD-6070/PD6070Vistaonlyfaq.html
Starting at step 9.

I never got it to actually complete the update process, but it did format it, which solved the problem.

One warning though, doing this will erase all data (music) on your player.

Won't come on after charging in usb hub

Depending on how long you've had the player, the batteries may need replacing.

I have seen a problem where the computer would not recognize the player and would not charge it, however.

First, I recommend trying to charge it directly from the computer USB port (not the hub) if possible. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the software for the player to see if the computer will then recognize it and allow charging.

If neither of these fix the problem, it's probably time to replace the batteries.

Good luck!

Use the FAQ section on mymusix.com. Be patient cuz it took me over an hour to get it going.

Otherwise I can give you step-by-step instructions.

My mp3 wont turn on

Firstly, you should know that MyMusix has a website - MyMusix.com with a fairly extensive FAQ for most models of the MyMusic players. It doesn't come up on the first couple of pages of a google search because it's crowded out by vendor and online help sites.

However, before you spend a lot of time with that, take your player out of the USB port, turn it over and look for a tiny hole with the word "reset" under it. Use a paper clip to push down and hold the tiny button inside for a couple of seconds. Watch for changes on the screen. With luck, your screen should respond with the MyMusix start-up display.

If this doesn't work, look through the rest of the FAQ for other issues related to Vista and Windows Media Player software.

For a last resort use the support email address: support@mymusix.com.

File removal

If you are using Windows Media Player 11, go to the sync tab and make sure it is displaying only the files on your Mp3 player, and not every file stored on your Computer's hard drive. Click once on a song you want to delete, and then hit the delete button on your computer's keyboard.

If your not using Windows Media Player 11, then read pp. 17-20 of your user's manual, available at www.mymusix.com

My mp3 player won't power up. "new"

I had the same problem. Then I pushed the "reset" button on the back witha push pin, and then it turned on for me. Not sure if it will work for you but thought I might give any advice I could, I know how annoying it is to have an electronic that doesn't work. Good luck!

Display Light

MyMusix's PD-6030:
If you have a Windows-based computer,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails,
Check the battery polarity. (+ and - must be in correct psoition)
Set the hold button to the unlock position.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format
If that fails,
go to www.mymusix.com to see if the latest software update will correct the problem

Unit Won't Turn On

I found some directions on mymusix.com. Basically, it recharges through the USB connection so plug it into the computer. Then wait for the little battery picture to be full to indicate the battery is charged. I am waiting...
If you don't even get a picture of a battery, you have a bigger problem. Check the website for adding firmware (under FAQs, under the 6070) and if that doesn't work, you might need to take it back to Radioshack and tell them. They seem to be good about taking things back..I think the one I bought is a return since it already has music on it. Not sure if that is good or bad.
