Most pumps actually have the spring and carbon side of the seal attaching to the impeller... with the ceramic piece and rubber insert going into the seal plate.... dont forget if you have a whisperflo that you have a reverse threaded machined screw to remove in the impeller before any of this can be started

The ceramic goes rubber side first into the back of the impeller. The spring piece gets pressed into the seal plate. I will usually just use a 1" PVC coulping and lightly tap into the seal plate with that. But sorry I don't have any pictures to send but you should get instructions with the new seal in the box. You should end up with ceramic against graphite when your done.

You should not confuse the Wisperflo pump with the polaris PB4 the man is asking about. The ceremac goes into the impeller and the graphite goes in the seal plate. It's that way on most pumps that take a 1000 seal.

I'd suggest going to Jacks Small Engines on line. Look up your saw by model and or serial number. Find a parts breakdown in their files...its all free.... and look at the exploded view of your particular saw. There you will find the correct orientation of the spring and related parts that have to be aligned to re install. There ARE NO directions, just an exploded view. It will help.

Clutch just quit engaging, found small spring in the case/cover, need an exploded view of clutch assembly and a photo of new clutch plates.

For an exploded view of your clutch, go to www.bikebandit.com . The only spring that I can think of in the area is a small srping in the release mechanism but I can't figure how it got inside the case. As for your clutch plates, as long as they've got the oil grooves in them, they're fine. Although they don't look like much, they'll work.

Good Luck
