Question about Gateway 24" Widescreen Flat Panel TFT LCD HD Monitor
I was the screen and it just went black. I suspect it is just the capacitors inside blew. Has anyone had any luck repairing these
Unplug everything from the monitor, than push the on button for 30 seconds. Plug everything back in, and that should power it back up. I had the same problem, and apparently there was a build up of static electricity in my screen. Fixed it right away.

You can open it up and inspect the caps in the power supply first, if they look OK then you need to check to see if you do have 24vdc feeding the backlight inverter board, it can be that you have blown fuse on the inverter board.
You can read more about other people that try to repair it, http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=45010
