HI. I have an expedition of the same make and model. unfortunately, this issue with the radio is a common issue with this actual stereo package. The logic chip that controls all functions of the affected stereo, in your case, has failed. This will occur repeatedly when the stereo temperature reaches normal operating status. It is a basic cold solder break that has separated the logic chip from its seated position on the micro board.

The only option for me in this case was to replace the entire stereo system in my expedition. I was unable to repair the damage, due to the fact that the board is not replaceable. Ford will re-issue the same stereo for a small fee, if the vehicle is under an extended warranty package that covers all electronics. If you do not have this warranty package, you will be responsible for the total replacement cost of this defective stereo system. You will only need to replace the in dash stereo, and not the speakers or any other attached accessories.

2003 Ford Expedition battery died and when restarted, the radio won't work

I think your radio is much like the one in a Taurus, and mine has had hiccups like that before. First locate the actual radio which is in the back somewhere behind a cover. Unplug it and wait a few minutes to be sure it is reset. Plug it back in and it should work fine again. This may also fix your navigation system, if it doesn't find the 'brain' of the navigation thing and unplug, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in.

1999 FORD EXPEDITION intermittantly will not start.

You have a bad starter. A faulty starter will function when its cold but when it heats up, it takes more energy to get the starter to engage. Your problem is exhibiting the classic symptoms of a bad starter. I hope this solves your problem and the best of luck to you.

99 ford expedition radio problem

This is not a fuse problem, it is a burnt out display backlight bulb, you have to pull the radio out of the dash and remove the top cover of the radio, you will see a tiny bulb socket, twist it out, replace that little bulb.
