Hi,“F02” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

  1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
  2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
  3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
Thanks and take care

Whirlpool duet washer error code f-02

Error F-02 is a slow drain problem. Remove lower front panel. You will see a circular door. Be prepared for a lot of water and junk, maybe keep some old towels ready. Open, clean out, check pump which comes right behind it - see that blades rotate freely; refit carefully. You are done, for the next six months or so, depending on usage.

F- code 02

How to fix a Whirlpool Duet & Duet sport error code F02. Repairing your F02 error code can usually be done without ordering parts. Tools needed to repair your Duet F02 error code are towels and a quarter inch socket.

Tip the washer back at a 45 degree angle. On the bottom panel there are three or four screws, with the screws removed the panel will slide down and off. With the lower access panel now removed you will have access to the washers drain pump clean out.

With the water already bailed from the washer you can twist the filter head counter-clockwise to remove. Twisting the filter head counter-clockwise will loosen filter so it can be pulled out. With the filter out, clean and install back into washer.

Run a quick cycle to ensure the washer is back up and running and the F02 error has disappeared. If the error comes back it may require you to clean the drain pump filter again.

I keeping getting a F 02 error or a sud error

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that there's an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, the drain pump reservoir needs to be checked and cleaned. The access screws are on the lower toe panel directly below the door in the FRONT of the washer. They are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may need to prop up the two front feet of the washer to access them (a 2x4 works well for this). The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced. If the pump requires replacement, the following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574350-replacing_the_drain_pump_in_a_front_load

Replacements can be purchased online at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: The washer will not complete a wash cycle as long as there is an error code present. Once the problem has been corrected, the washer should run normally. The "SUD" error commonly occurs in conjunction with a drainage problem due to air (sudsing) being detected in the drain pump. Fix your drainage issues and the "SUDS" error should go away.

Potential Causes

Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.

Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.

Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.

If still the problem persists then you need to replace the pump.
