Question about Cameras

1 Answer

My Fisher Price Camera, 2005 model, will not hold any more than 6 pictures at a time: although it will take more... I have already uploaded all the pictures onto my computer but it still seems to be full of data that i cannot access. Any suggestions?

You have hidden files. Reformat the storage media on your computer or camera...if that doesn't work you will need to scan the media for errors. You can do this by mounting the camera on your computer and then right clicking properties. There should be an option called disk tools. Run a scan. Keep in mind that "fixing" these bad areas will decrease the overall available size of the media.

OK-- I would rather reformat than run a scan -- I can do that next if reformatting does'nt work.
But how do I do this?
I cannot find the option on the camera itself, OR when it is connected to my computer.

If nothing else when you attach the camera to the computer it should mount as a drive, then right clicking on the drive should give you the Format option. You can format it FAT16 or FAT32. Don't format it NTFS. The manual is here if you need it.

Just FYI it says that without an SD card the camera will only store 20 pictures at a time at the high resolution setting, internal memory on these cameras isn't great quality, if you have a lot of issues just install an SD card and use an SD card reader instead of the USB cable.

Frozen screen

Same happened to me; turned out to be a corrupted filesystem on the camera. Solution was a bit mad - I've got linux on my PC so I used 'dd' to write zeros to the entire device ("dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb" in my case; check /proc/partitions to find what the camera has come up as). Next time the camera was turned on it sorted itself out. I used photorec first in 'brute force' mode to get the pictures off it/

There is no cd or program for this camera. You can upload the photos using the camera as a removable drive with the provided usb cable and use any photo software on your computer.

What is the latest firmware for this camera? L8342

There is no driver or software needed to upload the pictures. Simply connect the provided usb cable to the camera and computer. Then locate the "computer" tab on your computer and find the removable drive's section. The pictures may be in your G or F drive. Open the folder and you will see the picture files. You can copy or cut and paste them where ever you like. If you cannot find the provided usb cable, you can purchase it by visiting http://service.mattel.com/us/.

I am just trying to find out how to delete more than one file at once on my daughters fisher price tough kids digital camera she got last christmas. I have saved all the pictures (386 of them) onto the...

The only way I know of is to RE-upload the photos and click on the tickbox that says "delete all photos after loading". Otherwise, you will have to delete one at a time.

The USB connector on the camera doesn't fit well with the USB cable. Juste connect and hold / press firmly the cable and it should detect the digital cam.

Usb cord

Greetings pam0681,

While I was unsucessful in finding a replacement usb cord for the Fisher Price camera, I wanted to make sure you were aware you could utilize an additional SD card to capture memories. You would then use an inexpensive memory card reader which hooks up to your computer to upload the pictures. This would allow you to continue using the camera.

I hope this helps!
