You did not specify the model number of the Projection TV and or the DVD player. This information will enable us to give a more clarified answer. Thank you.
Set the tv input to av or input channel, then turn the tv to that channel, then use rca jacks from dvd outputs that are red, white and yellow. Yellow is video, red is right audio channel, and white is left audio channel. Then check the dvd player's settings to make sure everything looks good.
If you use rca, make sure it is the coaxil rca for and not the regular rca cable like the audio has.
You can also try updating the firmware of the televison. The free upgrade software can be received at manufacture's website
As enumerated in my original posting this TV has Four Input Selections each with various Connection Selections eg., Cable,Antenna B,Attena A, Sat etc.
It hasFour S-Video Connections and 2 Component Connections 1 DTV/Digital which i use for the Satelite Hook Up with Component Cables. Your suggestion is not applicable to this TV

Hello,
this could be as a result of incompatibility. Its obvious that the TV is not compatible with the newer DVD players but its compatible with the older ones.
I wouldn't say this is a fault from the TV, I believe its an incompatibility issue. The components in the TV does not correspond with that of the newer DVD players.
Good luck.

I have a Mitsubishi HDMI Projection TV hooked up with a Seven Year Old JVC DVD player that plays all DVD's other then those released within the last several months. Netflix/Redhat tells me the DVD Player does not DEcode the newer disks.
I purchased two brand new dvd players one a Magnavox, and a Sony Blue Ray. I hooked up Component Cables and Optical Audio. I then changed the Input on the TV to Comp. 1 and the TV does not Pick up on the DVD Player at all. I tried RCA,S-Video and still nothing. I returned both Players. Can anyone advise what the problem is. The real kicker is the TV recognizes the Older DVD play and will play all my older DVD's and it will not even recognize any other DVD Player.
This Mitsubishi TV has 4 RCA inputs,2 Component, 1 Digital DTV 4 S-Video I have as stated hooked up the RCA,S-Video,Component in all of them and the same results. Kinmdly read my original posting again as it explains it in complete detail. The most interesting fact is that the JVC DVD Player works but only with pre 2009 disks. For some reason the TV is not recognizing any other DVD Player of the Three New Ones I hooked up as mentioned.
