Panasonic stereo help

I have a panasonic stereo model se-2680.  and when i listen to the radio on it, one of the speakers work and the other doesnt.  i switch the speaker wire's and the other one works and the on that used to work doesnt.  sometimes both speakers work but then the next day it go back to one working and the other not. i mess with the balance and that dosent seem to do anything.  it even doesnt work when i plug my ipod into the aux input.  i just bought a new needle for the turntable that is in the panasonic stereo, and i cant get both speakers to work.  any help would be great.

Hello,
Do you have the SB-250 Thrusters speakers that originally came with the unit? If you are ever willing to sell them (or the whole unit), please let me know.

It sounds to me like there is a dirty connection or a failing component in your stereo. Being intermittent like you've described, is hard problem to figure out. It could be just the connection you are getting at the speaker terminal. But, If you aren't shy about opening up your stereo to see the guts, try getting some denaturated alcohol and clean the connectors inside. Then if you are familiar with soldering you could check the connections in the driver circuts and see if you can re-flow some of the connections. I had that problem with my receiver. The video output was be flaky so I flowed some new solder on some terminals and it works perfectly.
I hope things work out.

I have a 1995 gmc jimmy stereo sound doesnt work

Are you sure you are listening to a stereo program (e.g. FM radio or CD/Tape)? Have you tried adjusting the fade and balance controls? If sound is not coming out of all speakers, you will probably have to replace the radio.

I HAVE PANASONIC CQ-C700U STEREO PLAYS ON ALL

are you running the rest of your speakers off an amp? if so, it sounds like you have the amp remote wire connected to the power antenna wire. on some radios there is an amp remote wire and a power antenna wire. the power antenna wire loses power when not listening to the tuner (radio). usuall there is a solid blue and a blue with white stripe. the blue with a white stripe should be amp turn on.

Installed a clarion radio it powers up but no music thru speakers

sounds like a short in your wiring to your speakers the best thing to do to check this is run a speaker wire directly to the speaker from the stereo check it that way and see if it works. If that don't work it's the wires on the stereo connection. The speaker wires on most aftermarket stereos are mostly colored 2 of each green, purple, white & grey.

Boston 746 speakers

they might have had a mini amp installed in each speaker some models of speakers have that feature to where u have to hook up power and also the regular speaker connections to the radio system basically even if you have a radio with some power then the speakers may have some type of crossover or something that makes it so if u dont have the power hooked up to them then they wont work right... but there are some speakers out there that dont do that, or it could be that if the stereo that u r using may just be that it has barely any output so it doesnt power the speakers... option 1, if it is the stereo then u will eather have to go to a car shop that sells the self powering speakers "not as cheap as regular speakers" and get those or, option 2, which consists of having to install a new stereo system with more power "remember the system hass to have a little more power than all the speakers combined together..."
