If you do not hear static DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TALK !!!! Check that the RF gain, RF power is turned up and the squelch is turned down. You may have a problem with your antenna or coax. Make sure the antenna is wired to the radio. Start at the rear of the radio working all way to tip of your antenna, make sure all connections are tight, and that the positive and grounded side of the coax and antenna are not touching one another. the connector that connects the coax to the antenna has a positive center and grounded outside, make sure the grounged outside is not touching the positve element of the antenna. If all this checks out make sure you have matched the antenna to your vechile by checking and ajusting the SWR's. Make sure you have the antenna installed on a flat ground plane ideally the top and cener of the roof. Make sure no metal of the car is close to the driven element of the antenna.

With my cobra 29 wx nw st I can not pick up any weather channels. I have the k30 antenna. Do I need a dual band antenna?

Do you hear static when you turn on weather? If so there are just none in range of you. There are not weather radio stations everywhere. You would not use a dual band antenna on any CB. Only an antenna designed for the 11 meter band. Which is the 27mhz CB radio band.

You can go here and see if you have NOAA All hazards weather radio coverage in your area.

If the CB radio is working otherwise it is most likely that there is just not a NOAA transmitter near you.

Can not get static out of radio i have a cobra 29 with weather channel the squ knob seem 2 b not working sometimes can u help me

Turn the squelch down, and the RF gain all the way up.

You need to realize that some times, there is not a lot of noise out there. Right now lately there has been due to skip. But it does die down. When you hear a lot of noise for a while, then it goes away, it messes with your head. You don't hear anything, but that's because its quite out. I would test it by talking to some one on the radio. If you can hear them just fine even though you don't hear a lot of static, then its just quiet out.

Uniden 30 ch scanner i have locked out all channels.

Each channel with the zeroes means that it is a blank - with nothing programmed into it. Going to any one of them and programming a frequency will get rid of the zeroes and switch off the lockout. It's picking up weather, so it's working. Sounds like you just need to find and program active frequencies for your area, and the place to find them is:

www.RadioReference.com

If you need it, you can download and print the manual for the BC60XLT-1 here:

How to get TV audio on the FR300 radio?

Your TV band radio won't work anymore now that the US has switched to digital broadcasting. The frequencies now in use aren't the same now, so the radio can't receive them. Plus, the radio doesn't have the circuitry to decode the digital sound even if it could pick up the broadcasts.

Sad to say, you have a radio that now picks up only AM/FM/weather and static. Also, as far as I know, nobody is yet marketing a radio for TV sound with digital capability. All you can do during a power outage is use a new TV with battery capability and digital tuning.

as it is a tough radio to take the knocks it probaly gets knocked around a bit- make sure the antenna is not loose! or damaged have you rotated it a bit too much and snapped the wire inside? try AM to prove it (if Fitted), AM doesntuse the external aerial
Good Luck!

HELP with bc350c scanner, won't pick up feeds

Sounds like an antenna problem. Remove your back-of-set antenna and see if reception changes. If it's the same or nearly the same, check the antenna solder connections inside the set and resolder if necessary. You might also try an outdoor antenna or one of the indoor/outdoor units that's enclosed in PVC pipe. These are fairly inexpensive and can be found on eBay or other sources.

GALAXY 88 HIGHT STATIC IN THE RECEIVE ..

Hi,

If the antenna for the other properly operating radio is used with the radio with the noise and you are getting the static then we can assume it is the radio. If you hear signals with the static, that is, it does receive communications at the same time, there may be a problem with the noise reduction circuitry, or a defective component(s) in the receiver. Without knowing your experience I would suggest taking to a radio shop.

Static from SoundStation Premier

Check the phone cable you are using for your POTS line. Attach a phone directly to the phone jack and see if it is clear or static without the device.
