One way to access you home email account is through your account provider's webmail portal. The specific address to surf to with your phone will depend on your internet service provider, but they all have webpages you can use to access you email for when you are at a web cafe or with a device like a phone.

Google Mail is integrated with the phone, so another way would be to get a Gmail account and have your gmail account interface with your home email. To teach the phone or Gmail to pickup your email, there are some technical things to find out from Outlook, or whateveremail program you use at home. Specifically, your POP3 and SMTP server, your logon user name and password. Your provider's webmail page won't need the server setup done, since they are the servers.

If your have your email server info handy, these are the steps to setup your phone for home email without going through a webpage:

  1. In Idle mode, access Menu mode and open the Messages menu.
  2. Access the message settings menu.
  3. Access the email settings menu.
  4. Select the Mailbox setup wizard and follow the easy step-by-step instructions to complete the email mailbox setup.

On many phones, you can set the wallpaper or animated screensaver easily, but the animation the phone displays as it shuts down is part of your providers flex package. To change the animated wallpaper:
  1. Scroll left or right to one of the idle screens.
  2. In Menu mode, select Settings → Display and light → Wallpaper.
  3. Scroll left or right to an image.
  4. Select Set.
I hope that helps.

I understand how to change the wallpaper on the phone - I have changed it to a photo. What I don't want is to have to screen savers, that keep changing between 2 photos - I only want the one. How do I do that?

In terms of the email account, the service provider is Telstra. But the questions relate to:

    Is the account name the same name as the email address (in my case they are different);

Where do I find out what the incoming server type, incoming server and outgoing server information?

    Thanks for your help

Sorry, I should have said that we use the Apple mail operating system. Does this help?

    Regarding your email account:

If you ever feel like accessing you Telstra email from anywhere other than home, the easiest way is Telstra's Webmail Portal.

Your Telstra email account name is separate from your full email address; usually it is everything before the @ sign. You can get all the nerdy server terms to plug into your phone by clicking on the Mail icon in the Dock, and following Mail > Preferences > Accounts until you see your account name, and can choose to edit it. After the general information, you should see the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) name, something like incoming.telstra.com or imap.telstra.com. Next look for outgoing or SMTP server name. Account name, password, incoming server and outgoing server are the things you will plug into your phone.

As far as having that second photo come up, your Samsung Jet only has one 'wallpaper' configuration, and I don't see anything about a second. Is it possible this second one is an artifact of an installed app?

    I hope that helps.

Forgot home screen password for Samsung 12.2 tablet. How do I unlock it?

If it's an android device...
1. Enter wrong pattern 5 times and wait for 30 seconds.
2. Select "Forgot pattern" and enter your email account username and password.
3. Make sure you use the same account that was used to activate the device and double check the password by logging in to that email account in a browser.
4. If you don't have access to the original email account, you will need to do a hard reset and loose your settings and apps on the devcice. The data on the memory card will not be wiped though.
Note: if you can't remember your email password, you will have to visit the email service support page to get it reset.

Someone used my computer to access her Facebook Home Page and now I cannot access my home page. I have my home page saved in Favorites and everytime I try to access it, her home page comes up and I can't...

Top right corner, click on "Account". Select "Logout" from the dropdown menu. This returns you to the Signup screen. At the top of the screen, you should see her email and her password dots. Replace them with yours, tick the "Keep me logged in " box, hit "Login", and you're off!
