What does the IE error code mean? The washer wont drain.

The IE fault code indicates that your washer is not filling properly with water This error code is displayed if the washer is not fully drained within 10 minutes. I will give you troubleshooting tips for both the fill problem and the drain problem.

To troubleshoot a drain problem, follow these steps:

  • Follow the steps on page 17 of your owner's manual to clean the drain pump filter. If you do not have your owner's manual, you can access it on our Manage My Home website.
  • Check your drain hose for kinks or clogs.
  • Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed according to the installation instructions for your washer.

Here are some troubleshooting steps for the filling problem:

  • Make sure that the water valves behind your washer are fully open.
  • Check the filter screens on the inlet valves where your fill hoses connect to the back of the washer. If debris is clogging the screens, remove the screens and thoroughly clean them. Flush the inlet openings thoroughly with water to prevent debris from entering the washer and corrupting the inlet water valves.
  • A drain installation problem can cause siphoning of washer fill water. Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed per the installation guidelines for your washer.

My washer wont pump water out hose is not blocked

Hi

If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump or a drain filter or a kinked drain hose. To resolve the issue you'll need to clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. If the hose is fine, then remove the front kick panel and access the drain pump and filter, if you are unable to find the pump and filter remove the back panel as well and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the tub. There is a drain filter connected with the drain pump. It usually gets clogged, and needs to be cleaned every 6-8 months or so. The drain filter is a small white filter connected to drain pump with a hose. If it still doesn't work then you'll need to check the connections of the drain pump, check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope this helps... Please back for any further assistance.

Washing machine wont spin and is full of water and wont drain

  1. 1 A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.
  2. 2 If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.
  3. 3 Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.
  4. 4 Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.
  5. 5 If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Maytag MAV4755AWW. Water remains in clothes after spin cycle.

Check the drain hose for kinks and clear it from any clogging. If no clogging or kink is found, drain the water manually.

Remove the rear access panel to access the drain pump. Press the hose clamps and move it away from the pump. Remove the hoses from the pump and drain the remaining water from the tub drain hose into a shallow pan.

Lay the machine on its side on a cushioned surface to allow easy access and removal of the drive belt.

Remove the three screws securing the drain pump to the base of the machine. Check the pump impeller for any damage and clear it from any debris that may be preventing it to pump the water out. Replace the drain pump (part #35-6780) if the impeller is damaged. Secure the new drain pump to the base of the machine with the three screws and reinstall the drive belt and the rear access panel.

Note: Disconnect the machine from the power outlet before servicing to avoid the hazard of electric shock.

Washing machine wont drain.....so i took the hose out of the drain and drain the leftover water into a bucket and it work just fine!... : / so i figured the pump is working and there is no sock clogging...

It definately sounds like you have a worn drain pump. Have a technician inspect the pump. Do you hear any unusual noises from the machine? Also, do not stick the drain hose too far down into the standpipe! That's the equivelency of putting pop into a straw and holding the other end with your thumb. leave a loose gap the whole way around between the hose and pipe.
