Question about Mitsubishi WD-73733 73" HDTV

1 Answer

The Tv turns on but there is no picture and you only hear white noise. After a minute it shuts itself off and a red status light comes on. I have reseted several times and also replaced the lamp, but still have the same problem.

Hi,

Please try pressing the front panel "INPUT" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, holding them for 5 seconds, This activates the Error Code Mode. The "TIMER LED" flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occurred since the last Initialization.

* On models that do not have a input use the device button.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Let me know, so that we could Proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Thank you for your support. I just finished doing all that and it gives me a 12 for a code, which means there is nothing wrong with the unit. I followed the troubleshooting intructions in the service manual and was stock on plug FB pin 4. It's supposed to be 5 seconds high, 10 seconds lows, 1 second high and then stay low. Well it does the reverse and it never stops doing the cycle. It keeps on doing this; 5 seconds low, 10 seconds high, 5 seconds low, 10 seconds high and keeps on repeating this until the TV shuts itself off. Hope you can help me some more. Once again thank you.

As you have already Replaced the Lamp, this Error usually Indicate High Voltage Board needs to be Rebuilt.

I am still consulting it with some experts, and let's see, what they have to say for the same.I would let you know,if they would have some other thoughts.

Let me know, so that we could Proceed.

Unplug the tv for about a minute - plug it in and press the reset button on the front of the tv - hold it until the light blinks. The set should come on in a minute of two - if not try the same routine again.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Tv turns on and than red status light comes on and shuts down

it sounds like the 3300uf caps on the power supply have gone bad.look at them and see if they are pregnant. if so change them. while you have the shield off see if any other caps are pregnant, if so you might want to think about having the chassis repaired.
