Yes. You need a new battery. I would assume the same. Have the battery checked or try charging it in the battery charging cradle overnight.

BATTERY DOES NOT CHARGE Received a "Vivitar T328" camera yesterday. Inserted the supplied battery and a new memory card into the camera and connected the camera via "USB" cable to the supplied charger....

How old is the battery? If the battery is refurbished or old it might just not charge anymore.

Also, do you have a separate charger for the battery? Many cameras do and that is how they charge, not when the battery is still in the camera.

Camera shows "exhausted batteries" with new ones.

i have this camera and i had the same problem
everytime i put in new batteries like 5 seconds later the battery was exhusted i tried cheap and expensive batteries but nothing seemed to work
i would recomend rechargealbe batteries because they last longer but if you prefer one-time use batteries you should change they battery type in the menu/ setup

Fuji Finepix E550. Camera working O.K. midway after 18 pictures whenever buton was pressed to take pictures the camera shuts itself off. Batteries new, able to view pictures taken but cannot now take...

Thanks for your prompt reply. The problem has been solved!!!! I put in new batteries and the camera is functioning normally.!!!!!!! It seems the batteries in the camera were old ones and not fully charged. I think its safer to put in new batteries than to use recharged ones !!!!!!
Anyway, thank you once again and have a Happy Christmas.
Gratefully,

TIPS:
1.)NEVER PUSH THE LENS IN AFTER CAMERA DIES, BUY A NEW BATTERY IMMEDIATLY AND TURN IT BACK ON, CLOSING THE LENS!

2.)NEVER USE AN AC ADAPTER, USE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY OR A REGULAR BATTERY!

..to fix this...

Do as i say..

1.) Remove battery
2.) Remove front plate (screw driver may be needed)
3.) Check all gears, make sure they are correctly fitted in place)
4.) Move the gear manually to make the lens come out.
5.) keep it out, put the front plate back together.
6.) reinsert the battery, turn it on.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Wait about 6-8 hours.
3.) Reinsert the battery.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Try hooking it up through AC adapter, put correct voltage.
3.) Try turning it on.
4.) Remove AC adapter, reinsert battery.
5.) Turn it on.
If nothing happens just tell me..

Hope this may help;

VistaQuest VQ1005 SD card is locked

Hi, I seemed to have a similar problem. I just got my camera, and straight away put a good battery in it. It seemed to be very unpredictable in it's behaviour - sometimes freezing, or taking a picture then switching itself off, or taking a picture which ended up being corrupt.
I also bought one for my colleague who seemed to have no problem. We tested, and it wasnt the SDcard. Ths only other factor was the battery. My colleague used the factory supplied battery and it was fine! So I used that "cheap" battery and my camera works now! So i'm off to buy some cheap batteries. Hope your problem is as simple to solve.

Rechargeable batteries, do lose their capacity if recharged when partly down- the best way to discribe it is to say they have a memory- but only remember the last bit to be charged. So put the batteries into a torch or similar and leave on until completely flat and empty- then recharge. So do that and buy some new batteries - a couple of sets of batteries are best to have any way. Make sure they are NiMah and the charger accepts NiMah. Then clean out the contact in the bottom the of the battery chamber with the eraser at the end of a pencil. and the contach on the cap. Do that first then come back.
