Hello,
There should be a pin hole on the back of the router beside the power cable. If you push in with a pin in the hole and hold it down for a few seconds you should reset the router.
Thanks,
Pat

You can adjust settings by going into 2Wire Router using your internet browser..
Default IP Address on 2Wire Routers: http://home/ This will take you to manager tools
Default Username / UserID on 2Wire Routers: None
Default Password on 2Wire Routers: Wireless
Default Netmask on 2Wire Routers: 255.255.255.0

If you can’t access management tools because of logon or password, you can reset to above

My 2wire power light is flashing and no internet connection.

Try first to power off the router for 30 seconds to power cycle the unit and then check if that will correct the problem, if still the same you can go ahead and press and hold the reset button of the router for 15 seconds and reconfigure it after the reset...

In order for you to reset your 2wire to default, you can press the reset button on the bottom part of your modem. Once you access you modem interface it will set to default.

Need password for 2wire network

The best solution is to reset the router. The easiest way to do this is to find the reset button, usually on the back of the router there is a pin hole button. Use a pin or pencil to push the button.

Be warned, any special settings will be lost, but most installations of home network routers such as the 2Wire Router/Gateway is the default settings. If you have other than the default settings, then contact the person/organization that set up the 2Wire for you, such as your ISP/Internet provider.

Hard reset for 2 wire router 1020

If you do a hard reset on that sort of router, any information on the router will be lost, and the router will return to factory defaults.

Do you mean that you want to do a hard reset on your FRIEND'S router, so that you can go back to using the OTHER router that you lent him?

look for a small, recessed button on the back, near where the power cord plugs in.  you'll probably need a pen or sharp pencil in order to press it.

if you can find that recessed button, hold it down until the lights on your router blink
simultanously, then release it.   I know that works on SOME models of 2Wire routers, I'm not certain whether or not this model has the option or not.

Lost Ethernet and Wireless Connections in Modem

I've not used one of these 2wire boxes before, but I believe the default router's address is 192.168.0.1. Try this instead of gateway.2wire.net to see if you can gain access to the router. This is just the starting point, but see if it works.

Here's a link to, what I believe is, the router's manual.

Before you rate this please let me try to help some more. This could be a multi step process...

2Wire Router will not power up.

If it is not getting any power at all,
only one of three things:
cord is fried/dead;
could be the outlet,
try something else in the same socket; or, the board in the ROUTER is dead.
Disconnect power cable WAIT FOR 20 sec and then reconnect it..Reset your router, ..To reset the router, the best way is to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, or to press the reset button for 60 seconds..and for first 20 sec hold the reset with the power cable connected and for the next 20 sec with out releasing the reset button disconnect the power cable and continue holding the restet button , and after 20 sec reconnect power back and then continue holding the reset for another 20 sec.. and then ncheck for the lights status ..

Try another power cord. Take it back to the store and have them exchange it or test it. They'll do that for free.
