Question about DCS RDS-486GD Stainless Steel Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range
Ever since my husband made pizza's the other night and has the oven temperature very high, the oven is not working right. Now it takes an hour to get to 350 degrees and the heating light just stays on. We don't hear it cycling either. I have read on other fix it pages that maybe there is a switch that has to be reset. I have read after self cleaning this can sometimes happen. We have also shut off the breaker in hopes that it would help but it didn't do anything. Anyone know why this is happening?
Had same issue - replaced the ceramic ignitors and most of my problem was solved. Apparently ignitors require replacement every 3-5 years. When they start to go it takes forever for your oven to heat up ... they don't glow properly causes the gas valve stays partially closed - ie hence less flame/heat. It may also significantly increase the amount of time it takes for the burner to light at all - essentially for the same reason.
On my oven the other issue was the burner itself ... it had corroded somewhat so the flame didn't automatically 'move' around to the other side of the burner. I removed the burner & cleaned the surface with a brass brush - problem soved. So essentially I had two issues - burner requiring maintenance & replacment of the ignitors.
As an aside I'm no expert - just relaying my experience.

The most logical solution for your problem would be a faulty thermostat, but yet at the same time i dont understand how it would heat to the temp desired then not come on at all. I would definately change the thermostat to start off with. Let us know :-D

SOURCE: My temperature will not increase above 350 degrees, it actually goes backwards when hitting the up temp button and also will not even heat to 350 degrees. This happened after I used the self cleaning
sounds like your thermostat is bad
