Try with headphone to check if sound is working or not
if not go to control panel
got to sound
check settings
if everything is fine in sound settings

go to this link and download sound drivers again

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Windows update disconnected my Altec Lansing BX2 speakers sound. What should I do?

I had a similar problem with my Altec Lansing BX2 speakers. When bringing my HP PC out of "Sleep Mode" (Windows 7), I either had a blank screen with only a cursor or a desktop with no start menu, desktop icons or any means to operate the computer. After unplugging the speakers and hard booting the computer, the PC returned to normal operation. I'm looking for a solution myself.

How do you set up altec lansing speakers on a windows vista computer

If they have regular speaker jacks (1/8th inch) it should be a breeze. Just plug them to the corresponding audio jack, depending if you have a stereo or surround sound setup it may be one cable or a few, and vista should use your existing sound drivers and output the audio to the speakers. Otherwise you can adjust your speaker settings in control panel, which you shouldnt need to. Hope it helps. It can get tricky, let me know if it doesnt work out.

HP Pavillion DV 6000. Turned it on and it shuts

Is heatsink connected to this problem? (sic) Most probably not, it is more than likely a simple Driver problem. Try to startup in SAFE MODE, press F8 at boot time. If this works you could run a "System Restore" back to a time before it went faulty. Or troubleshoot from safe desktop.

Vista messed up speakers

hi Avsandrick
Happy Holidays!
Doing a driver search don't help much, so I recommend 2 things here, wait until MS, make a Service Pack Cd, for Vista, or go to the Altec Lansing Page and see if for your particular model, there are drivers for vista.
other than that, a generic sound driver, could fix the problem.
