Bosch dishwasher actual runtime versus indicated runtime.

The usual discrepancies with run times is due to water heating time.
For example, your dishwasher may be estimating run time + time to heat the water from cold.
If your dishwasher is connected to hot water instead of cold, it will skip the majority of the heat cycle and adjust the time accordingly.
On the other hand for other people, their dishwasher brands may say "50 minute wash" but this does not take into account heating time, so wash can be anything up to around 70-80 minutes.

I just rehooked up my washer and I only have cold water going to it. It will go for a while and then reads F-20. What do I do?

he F20 error is a no water detected entering machine error and yes it is related to the hot water not being hooked up.

Newer washers sense and control the incoming water temperature. If you select cold wash and cold rinse you may think that it will not ask for hot water so you don't need it hooked up but you can't do that on this washer.

Even on a cold wash the temperature sensor will read the temperature of the incoming water. If your cold water is 60 degrees then the control will sense this and it may cycle the hot water on to bring the temperature up to 70 degrees.

This temperature monitoring is something all the newer washers do. Both water valves must be hooked up to water.

No hot water on wash cycle

Water coming into the dishwasher should be 125 degrees if not you will have cold/warm water. This will case poor wash/dry and longer wash times. If you have correct water temp. change out your control. Your heating relay is bad. part#266746

We see white all over the spoons and the bowls and not sparkilig white.

Make sure the water is 120 degrees at start up and also that the jet dry dispenser has jet dry. This aids in the clean rinse and spotting on dishes during wash, but most importaant is the water temp. Must be 120 at start up or you get an almost totally cold water wash.

My dishwasher is leaving scale on glass, silverware etc. Had problem once before but went away. Is there a filter or..

No, no filter. Make sure the water at start up is 120 degrees or you will be washing with cold water most of the cycle. Make sure the liquid jet dry is not empty but most of all make sure of water temp. Cold water or water below 120 will leave film and scale and also take too long to dry.

FP Hot water used when cold selected

YOU NEED TO CHECK THE WATER TEMPERATURE AFTER THE TUB IS FILLED WITH WATER WHEN COLD IS SELECTED. NEW MACHINES WILL USE BOTH THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES TO FILL THE MACHINE. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU WASHING WITH STRICTLY COLD WATER AS THE DETERGENT WILL NOT PROPERLY DISOLVE. COLD WASH TEMP SHOULD AVERAGE 65-70 DEGREES.

It is very common that high eficiency, low water using dishwashers take longer to finish all cycles. The best way to "hurry" the washing is to make sure that the water heater is providing hot water of at least 120 degrees. But no hotter then 140 degrees.
If the dishwasher runs even longer, check to see is the dishwasher is actually connected to the cold water line. This dishwasher can be run from cold water but the water heating phase in the cycles will add much time ti the entire cycle.

This unit has a sensor that detects the detects the water clarity towards the end of the wash cycle. Rinsing the dishes may speed the load a little, but encourage not to go crazy on the rinsing because the dishwasher actually counts on the food particles to help clean the dishes.
Also, note that the final (third) blinking light means drying. You can simply open the door anytime after the final draining and power off the dishwasher, allowing the hot dishes to air dry.
Hope this helps. Please resply with your findings. Thanks!
