Won't pump water, stalls engine if trigger not squeezed

Had it stored for winter in garage, pulled it out yesterday to use and engine started for about 1 sec then quit and noticed it was harder to pull over, discovered if I squeeze the trigger to release water pressure the engine pulls over easily and starts but then stalls from the pressure build up and if I keep the trigger squeezed it will pressure wash for about 2 seconds then quits putting out any water from the wand and engine starts to bog down???

Your unloader valve is stuck. Hold the handle down as you were right to start with the handle squeezed. Once your choke is off, cycle that water to the unloader valve by squeezing the handle, letting go, squeeze and let go spurratically while engine is running. Sometimes it breaks that valve loose. Otherwise, replace your unloader valve

Ican see im going to have to wright this whole thing again . This sight is not good for people like me who know the answers . Something always pops up and loose my well thought massage . like the one i just wrote to you . Briggs olny makes the engine on your mechine you have 3 to 4 differant other companys that make all of the other parts this makes it diffelculy for anybody to get parts for the mechine . But there can olny be two things wrong with this mechine . The first is you have a problem with the valves on the pump body . Do you see brass caps on the valve body remove them one at a time . Check the valve you can remove them with a small pair of niddle noise pilliers look at the plastic cages around the valves they tend to break and jam the valve seats it olny takes one to cause this condution you describe . The other thing it could be is the unloader valve is stuck . This is the part under the pressure control knob and you will need to remove it . What it dose is allow the presserized water to recurlicate back through the pump body when the trigger is not open . This could also cause this condution . Most of the time it can be freed up with some WD40 and most are not servicable as a unit and lots of luck trying to find one .But the chances are good you can free it . In the winter time you should put antifreeze in the mechine disconnect the plug wire pull the cord until it comes out the other side this will protect it from the water freezeing and expanding and damageing parts aswell as corroition . Well good luck from what you descriped the valves but you should also turn that pressure knob in and out on a regular baicis to keep it free

Hi,
I think that you are right on with your assessment of the problem...something has come apart inside the wand and it is blocking the water flow under high pressure or it will not open under high pressure...I would replace the wand.

I bought this car a week ago. (A 2001 buick lesabre limited). I drove it home and haven't gotten it insured yet so for the past week while I was on vacation I parked it in my garage and shut it so it would...

Lets start at the beginning. Have you checked the oil and coolant to make sure they are full ? Did it leak anything on the garage floor while it was parked ?
You could have oil or power steering fluid leaking onto the exhaust pipe which would cause a great deal of smoke.
And on most cars the check engine light will be on until the engine starts. If it stays on after the engine is running, you have trouble codes stored in the computer.

Engine won't turn. Have checked battery, starter, solenoid

The float needle in the carburetor is not closing which will allow gas to keep filling up into the cylinder and compression is blowing it up to the air filter.
There could be dirt or a build up ring around the needle of a jelly like material from sitting through the winter or just a build up over a long time
Cleaning the float needle may work but a new one is better

Portercable Pressure Washer Model PCH2401

when the trigger for the wand is not pulled , there is a pressure relief valve that bypasses the water in the pump and so there is no pressure until the trigger is pulled again.
with the pump getting hot and not being able to pull the motor to restart, it indicates that that pressure relief valve has jammed ( faulty ) and the pump is running at full pressure all the time
That will heat the pump and stop the engine from restarting
That valve is where I would start looking for a problem

HOW DO I DRAIN THE WATER FROM MY HP WASHER FOR WINTER

What I've always done is just disconnect the water hose then start the washer and pull the trigger till no more water comes out. You don't want to run it very long at all after there's no more water though, you can quickly overheat the pump if it is ran without a water supply for too long. I've been doing this for the past 3 years with one of my washers and haven't had any problems with the pump.

Why would a 98 grand prix gtp transmission pull just fine for 5 milesthen quit cut off car put in nueatral 5 r 10 secs grank back put in gear pulls like a new 1 same thing over and over please explain

There are many things that can cause this, a bad transmission pump or torque converter, restarting the engine helps it because you are stopping the flow of oil and then restarting it oil starts to flow again and increase pressure as you accelerate ,
Another problem could be in the vanes of the torque converter with the same concept when you shut it down and restart it.

You would need a ****** shop to check pressure and put scan tool on it to watch readings, and last it may be low on fluid or internal leakage causing loss of pressure.

Check transmission fluid. If full then sounds like electrical or internal transmission problem. Any check engine lights on? If so get codes pulled from vehicle computer.

When long distens run engine not pulling properly

Could be a couple things, if it seems to get worse the more miles you put on, off hand I'd guess the bike is running hot. Are you using good premium fuel with NO alcohol? Gas with ethanol nowadays accounts for 1/2 my business. Is it surging, back firing? Do your exhaust pipes look like they're getting quite hot? Does it start harder when the engine is hot? How many miles are on the bike? Think of some more symptoms and write back and we'll see if we can narrow it down.
