I don't know the answer, but I'm having evidently the same problem. I get 5 beeps in about one second followed by 3 seconds of silence and the pattern repeats indefinitly. F3 shows briefly in the window each cycle. Please email me at dmusicant at pacbell dot net if you have any ideas! Thanks!

Radio Shack CAT NO 43-5812, do you have a manual for answering machine

Radio Shack has the documentation for the 43-5812 (SP-812) Digital Answering Machine here: http://support.radioshack.com/productinfo/DocumentResults.asp?sku_id=43-5812&Name=Telephone%20Answering%20Devices&Reuse=N . These are all text documents and the English version of the documents are on the right hand side of the page. The direct link to the regular operation section is http://support.radioshack.com/support_phones/doc39/39765.htm . The documentation for remote use of the answering system is here: http://support.radioshack.com/support_phones/doc39/39766.htm . A trouble-shooting page and other documents are also available.

I hope this helps.

Not knowing how you checked the fuses, I think they need a second look, maybe a continuity check with a multimeter which can often be done with the fuses plugged in. You can buy a digital multimeter for under $20 US and they are handy around home as well. You'll find them at Radio Shack, auto parts and home improvement stores or at other electronics outlets.

This sounds much like the 'accessory' fuse is blown or the contacts in the fuse box or on the fuse itself are corroded. The latter can be corrected by removing and replugging the fuse several times.

HOW DO i SET TIME ON A 43-3829 ANS MACHINE???

Hello,

One thing Radio Shack's answering machine [model number 43-3829], is NOT, is intuitive. But I guess you know that already. ;-)

To set the date and time, perform each of the steps below in quick succession, otherwise the machine will drop you out of the process and you’ll have to start over. You have about five seconds between each step, so try and make a mad dash for the finish line (Steps 4.-5.).

Setting Date and Time on Your Answering Machine:

(To set Day…)

1. Turn the answering machine on and hold down the TIME SET/CHECK/>> button until it beeps twice.

2. Press ANNC/DAY/<< repeatedly until the correct day displays / is indicated.

(To set Hour…)

3. Press REC repeatedly until you reach/hear the correct hour.

(To set Minutes…)

4. Press >|| (PLAY) repeatedly until you hear the correct minute(s).

(To Review/Confirm...)

5. Press TIME SET/CHECK/>> once. The machine will play the time and day you entered.

Note:

To exit/cancel the time- and date-setting mode, press ON/OFF/STOP once.

Hope this helps! If you have additional questions, please let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

Your question is not clear enough, You can check it out in the user manual. I just guess you are asking recording your personal annoucement.

Before using this answering system, you
should record the announcement (up to
one minute long) that callers will hear
when the system answers a call. If you
choose not to record an announcement,
the system answers with a prerecorded
announcement: “Hello. Please leave a
message after the tone.”
1 Press and hold "Annc/Skip". The system
beeps. Speak toward the microphone
normally, from about nine inches away.
While you are recording, the Message
Window displays —.
2 To stop recording, release "Annc/Skip".
The system automatically plays back
your announcement.
To review your announcement, press
and release "Annc/Skip".

Radio Shack Sprint SP-812 Answering Device can't retrieve messages

Follow the below link for your manual,
http://support.radioshack.com/support_phones/39764.htm

The F it is displaying means current memory is full, I would reccomend playing your messages and then recording them onto a portable cassete recorder, or even play it back and record it onto your pc if you have a mic.

hope this helps

Pro-95 dual trunk-tracking handheld scanner from Radio Shack

Firstly make sure the "squelch" is set as per the manual (link below) page 26. http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc69/69487.pdf If that fails I suggest initializing the scanner to factory defaults as below:

the beep are known as "over beeps", they are generated at the end of a transmission by the transmitting raido to signal that the user has taken his or her finger off the transmit button and has ended transmission, like how they used to say "over". as for the hissing, have you tried adjusting the squelch?
