Question about Sony VAIO VGC-LV180J 24-Inch All-in-One PC

1 Answer

Functions not working first time (but eventually does)

When I try to open a drop down menu, it usually won't stay open until clicked more than once or twice. Possibly related, I have to highlight several times when trying to cut and paste; sometimes only part of line highlights, sometimes highlighting disappears before I can cut or copy, requiring multiple attempts.

I have a SONY VAIO all-in-one desktop PC (VGC-LV150J model).

Thanks in advance.

Have tried to reset. Did not work. Have tried several outlets. Did not work. How do I chcek the battery.

It would help knowing what operating system is I.e. Windows 7 or 8.can you get into safe mode by repeatedly tapping f8 this should give you drop down menu for last known good configuration.choose this to see if the laptop returns you to a desktop.the battery can be checked by leaving the power supply in until you get to the open screen desktop then remove power supply and check the icon for battery bottom right.if you hover the cursor over the icon it will give battery life in percentage.batteries eventually fail mainly because people do not charge them properly.you need to run it flat occasionally and do a full recharge.once it reaches 100% take the power supply off and run it down to 20% and charge back to 80 % half a dozen times in between full charges?also in control panel there is an icon for battery whereby you can force the battery to discharge so you can re educate the full charge memory, this usually increases the stamina of a failing battery.

I have one of the old big screen tvs the hitachi rear view screen projector tvs I am trying to find a universal remote that would work perfect on it as we bought it from someone and didn't have a...

Generally universal remote controls won't work for all functions to any TV like its original remote do. Some functions may not differ, that is, if you try to up the volume, the tV's volume will go down, and so on. The most we can do is to try with other setup codes for the tV brand with the remote control, and synchronize it, check the functions, and accept a code which will give you most of TV's functions alright. I hereby attaches setup codes for Hitachi brand TV' both 3 digit and 4 digits. Try them, and see which code suits to your TV the most.
Three digit codes for Hitachi are: 001/ 004/ 009/ 013/ 059/ 061/ 079/ 088/ 091/ 137/ 139/ 140/ 141/ 142/ 143/ 144/ 145/ 146/ 179/ 210
Four digit codes are: 0088 0059 0142 0060 0072 0004 0009 0091 0001 0012 0061 0137 0139 0141 0179 0227

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

Code Search

If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.

  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1000 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.

I don't have any audio feedback after installing windows vista 32bit

Make sure you do all your system updates. You can also go to your 'Start' menu, right click 'Computer' then click on 'manage' from the drop down menu. On the window that comes up go to the left side navigation and click on 'device manager', a list of all your hardware will show up in the main window, look for the 'Sound, video, game controller' and click on the arrow next to it to open it. You should see your sound hardware come up (usually called something like 'realtech audio..'), right click that and click 'update driver' or 'find driver' from the drop down menu'. Windows should now try to look for a driver, when asked if it can go online to find the driver, click yes! It should find and install the drivers for your sound hardware. might need to restart once it is installed.

Hey i am trying to find a product key for my new laptop it is windows 7

If you have a legal copy of Office, go to Word and click on the Office button that opens print and save drop down. At the very bottom, there are two buttons. Choose options.
Go to the Microsoft Office Word program and look for the Microsoft Office button. (See pic).

Click the Microsoft Office button at file menu. In the drop down menu, click Options, down on the very bottom of the menu.

To left is is the activate product option. Highlight that.

Go to resources and about selections and you will find your key and how to activate online.

If you have no key, there is a free program called open office that will open and write for every program in MS Office Suite.

It works really well and there is no reason to expose yourself all kinds of security threats b/c you can't update. Your illegal key will be identified eventually.

Pasteing and how it works

If you mean pasting in relation to cut / copy & pasting

How it works
When you cut or copy something, for example text, it is saved into the clipboard. Then when you paste, the text that is in the clipboard gets pasted. You can paste that same text more than once, it stays in the clipboard until it is over written (by cutting ot copying something else) or you restart your PC.

How to use it
There is a couple of ways to cut / copy & paste

1. Use right clicking menu
you can select something, some text for example, then right click on it with your mouse and select Cut or Copy. To paste right click where you want the text to be pasted and select Paste

2. Use application's Edit drop down menu
you can select something, some text for example, then select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Cut or Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Paste

3. Use keyboard shortcuts
you can select something, some text for example, then press Ctrl + X to Cut or Ctrl + C to Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted then press Ctrl + V to Paste

Hope this helps
