Hi,

Here is a link to some instructions I put together to clean out that area. Take a look and let me know if it is helpful.

Once the inlet protector screws are out you can lift it from the left side up first. If you look close there is a rim around where the screw on the left side went in, if you can get a needle nose pliers and grab that lip it will pull up.

Send a reply here if you have trouble and I will see if I can find pictures

INLET PROTECTOR

Hi Michelle,

I hope this is not a duplicate, I am having trouble sending things today and the last message I sent to you is not showing up on my end. If it is a duplicate I am sorry about that.

The inlet protector has a screw near the left side of it that you removed. There is a 'rim' around that screw hole, if you grab that rim with a small pliers and lift from the left side first the cover will come up.

Reply to this if you have questions. I can look for pictures if needed.

Whirlpool quiet partner II top rack sprayer doesnt work

The top rack spray arm doesn't work because of low water pressure from the wash motor or it's clogged with debris.
If the top spray arm looks clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm and lower feed tube to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part # 8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.
Good luck!

DISHWASHER NOT CLEANING TOP RACK DISHES

I had the same problem (no water being delivered to the top rack) and found that the chopper assembly was completely blocked. I removed it, washed it, put the whole thing back together. It works like new now.

Note that it is not easy to get to the chopper assembly. I used the "pump and motor parts" diagram on http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%208193720.pdf. The inlet protector was especially difficult to get off, but I was able to pry it off to expose and remove the chopper assembly. I cleaned all the parts I removed really well before re-installing.

WHIRLPOOL MODEL DUL300 GRINDING NOISE

You might have something bouncing around in the wash pump inlet in front of the "chopper". Remove the lower arm and upper arm supply tube. Remove the screws then remove the screen, accumulator and inlet protector. You should see debris in front of the screen. 0ca22aa.jpg

newbury, the screen should set in the grooves on the bottom. The chopper blade that fits on the shaft should have a small hub that fits over it. If you look on the housing cover (inlet protector) you will see a channel that slides over the end of the chopper blade shaft. This secures the chopper in place. Catriver.
