I would say it depends on your mechanical aptitude. i do not think it is very difficult.

I have an Aprilair humidifier that started making a loud humming/buzzing noise. The water runs OK but the soloniod is burning hot to the touch. Is this normal?

Yeah they do need to be replaced from time to time. Make sure you get a water test kit and check your water hardness. You may need a whole home water filter if it is outside of normal ranges. A pretty easy DIY project and relatively inexpensive at the big box stores

Best solution is to take it back to the retailer for warranty repair or exchange.

Wondering why this humidifer does not shut off.? It runs all the time. We don't have a manual for it.

Since it's a Kenmore, you can get an Owners Manual from Sears Parts Central. You'll need tohave your Model # handy.

Squeeky noise coming from aprilaire 760 when running. Was told bearings were bad but see no parts available for bearings. Any suggestions as to the problem

Hello, usually when you hear a squeeky sound coming from humidifier it is the bearings on the motor, the only option is to replace the motor for the humidifier. I will post a link to a aprilaire store that carries motors for humidifiers.

Loud Ringing or buzzing noise off and on from the humidifer. Do we just need a new filter?

Hello, usually a ringing or buzzing sound comes from the solenoid valve on the humidifier. Make sure that the solenoid valve is getting a solid stream of water to it, sometimes if there is not a good stream of water the solenoid will buzz. if that checks out good than replace the solenoid vlave.

Hello kitty humidefier has started making a loud noise and sometimes it goes off but more often noise stays on longer. Almost sounds like a loud fan. What do I do?

This sounds like the electric motor bushings are worn which will cause vibration throughout the unit. If it is relatively new I recommend checking the warranty information and returning it to the retailer for a replacement. If you have gotten your money out of it but cannot tolerate the noise, then a replacement is in order as well. The cost of replacing the motor and installing it will most likely exceed the cost of a new humidifer.

My aprilair's humidifier motor began to make loud squealing noise

Put some lubricant, oil, WD40, etc. on shaft of fan. Spin the fan with your finger and work the oil into the shaft until the fan spins freely again. Reassemble and problem will be gone for 2-3 weeks. Repeat again until you want to replace the fan motor.

Aprilair 760 Humidfier will not stop water flow to EV panel

If the water continues runs nonstop even when the heater is turned off, you might have either a bad solenoid valve or a bad humidistat. Simply disconnect one of the two low voltage wires going into the unit. If the water turns off then your problem is most likely your humidistat or the low voltage wiring. If the water continues to run even when the low voltage is disconnected you have a defective solenoid valve.
Good luck.......

Aprilaire 760 furnace humidifier makes a loud screeching sound.

A bad circuit board should not make any noises. A bad solenoid valve could make a loud buzzing noise. If the noise is a squealing noise then you have defective bearings in the blower motor.
If you disconnect the low voltage wiring from the solenoid valve and you still hear the noise, then its not the solenoid valve.
