Question about Garmin GPS Devices
SOURCE: Screen Blanks
I had the same problem with an etrex Vista. I spoke with Garmin, they said that a recently launched WAAS satellite is interferring with some models (he mentioned it is the models with a black and white screen). Garmin tech support said that they're working on a software patch but for the meantime switch WAAS off.
Call Garmin tech support with any questions or to find out about the software patch, 1-800-800-1020

Sounds like you need to recalibrate the screen. This can be done by following the steps below:
To Calibrate the Touch Screen on a zūmo®:
1. Turn the unit Off and make sure it is not attached to any outside power source.
2. Power the unit On, continue to hold the Power button for 1 minute. 3. A screen will display that says, Press dot in the lower left corner. 4. Release the Power button and touch the sequence of dots until your unit says Calibration complete.

I am glad to HELP YOU!
Definitely after the impact your device became LESS SENSITIVE on the lower left side.
So as a replacement you will need
FIRST - the digitizer
SECOND - the display [but ONLY if the older display has cracks or other damages].
