Re: ultra wash dishwasher
First off you need to make sure you have power to the dishwasher.Take loose bottom panel and look to your left for your power box.Unscrew the cover plate and with a tester ,CAREFULLY,test the line at where your connections are made.

As a handyman thinking it might be fairly new, you might try switching off electricity to it from the breaker and see if that causes the water to stop running. You might have started it but won't shut off, some new types have a computer and takes 30 seconds to stop doing what it is doing after you push the power button again to switch off. A dishwasher could have something in its water valve that makes it stuck on but that's pretty rare, might be a chunk of debrie got in there possibly from changing plumbing pipes.
It sounds like you have a bad control console, and the problem is that your START button (the most critical one!) is bad. You can't replace just that button or key; you have to replace the entire control console.
I went to the Maytag site looking for a manual. None existed for my model, but I looked up won't start under the FAQs. The advice said to push the cancel button twice. My model doesn't have one, so I just started at the left side of the control panel and pushed each button twice. pushing the dry button twice made the lights stop blinking. i pushed the wash button and the unit started.
I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
I had the same flashing light problem first the normal wash flashing light then the others. I tried shuting of the breakers but nothing. I tried resetting the panel by pushing normal wash and heated dry simultaneously and nothing. So I took the six screws holding the front panel out and unplugged the ribbon type wires and plug and unplugged it several times to help make a better contact and I was able to get it to work right away. This may not work for all but I worked for me. It is very easy to do and it's worth a try if you're having the same problem. It took me less then 10 minutes.
