WHAT THE EXPRETION "CORE-BORED" MEANS

when drilling cement floors to add new mounts for equipment theres two ways to do it , Impact = useing a impact drill to chip cement out of hole Or core boring , this uses a hollow round drill to slowly saw the cement out of hole this tends to make a less ragggy hole in cement so hole is smoother and has less fractures in it (takes longer to do than first method )

Where does the rubber membrane go when tiling a bathroom floor

tiles on wooden floors will always move and crack the grout/tiling cement
therefore the rubber membrane goes down first with out nails and then everything is laid on top
that way when the wooden floor moves , there is a water proof membrane to prevent the water from rotting the wood over time

What is the sand and cement mix ratio for a patio

Hello. The typical volume-ratio for a self-mix concrete in this application would be one part Portland cement to three parts sand. For a stronger pad (capable of higher stress loads) it would be as low as two parts sand, but this is not necessary for a standard patio pour. The gravel should be three parts, more will make it tougher to achieve a smooth finish. Re-cap: Portland cement - 1 part, sand - 2 or 3 parts, gravel - 3 parts. Hope this helped.

What do I use and how do I keep the shower base level.

Hi, As with most shower trays, you must bed the tray down onto a suitable floor ( ie; solid and dry) surface using a bedding down mixture. Weak mix sand and cement is ideal for this purpose. Mix sand and cement at a ratio of about 5 or 6 to 1 and spread out on to the area where the tray is going. NOTE: it is important that the mixture is spread out evenly and touches all of the underside of the tray. Make sure you seal the floor a day before using a water and PVA glue sealant mixture so that the mortar will stick. Tap down the tray BY HAND or by using your fist, and use a spirit level on all four edges until the tray is completely level ( or as near as you can get it) I have provided a link for you with the full installation instructions. Hope this was of help to you.

EMBLEM, ELJER TUB. DO I CEMENT THE NEW TUB INTO THE FLOOR? HOW MUCH CEMENT AND WHAT KIND?

The tub should just sit on the floor, and caulked around to seal out any water. If it as a fiberglass tub, you might want to put some grout under the bottom to help support it.

Tile over a cracked cement floor

You can get a crack membrane to put over the cracks. First use a primer on the floor, this is a primer just for this application, then put membrane on top of primer. these products can be found at home depot or lowes or any tile store. Also do not use cheep thinset. the better thinset is more flexible and will absorb any movement. The cement board would not work as they will move or flex and cause the grout to crack and tile to loosen
