Right when you put in the disk and windows server starts loading at the blue screen it will say "press F6 if you need to install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver" at the bottom in white letters. Press F6 at that point. and you will need your RAID drivers on floppy disk. after it loads a few more files it will prompt you to put in your RAID driver disk. If your machine has no floppy drive you will need to use and external USB floppy drive. It will not take the RAID drivers from a cd

While i am tring to repair 2003 standard server on IBM 3400 Tower server i am facing a issue that hdd not found

Windows not see the disk because they are connected through a raid controller.
When you start the recovery windows you have to offer the installer the driver for raid. Installer wait new driver only 5 seconds.
During this time you must press "F3" and point driver on floppy.

In my IBM X226 server 2 HDD became unavailable in RAID 5 configuration. now I have replaced the hard disks and rebuild process is continuing. 1962 operating system not found error message is being shown...

Raid level 5 gives you some redundancy in your raid however it only allows you to lose one hard drive, two hdd lost would not permit to recover from. the parity bit can rebuild one hard drive but not two, sorry your raid might be lost

Have installed two new SATA HDD's, but don't show up in CMOS

Just a tip: Your OS shouldn't be on RAID. RAID is for storage.

If it is a software RAID you will need to load drivers

Even if they are disabled in boot configuration, it will show them as being attacked. You should have two areas in your BIOS/CMOS for configuring & enabling, along with setting order of boot.

1 logical harddisk degraded, RAID Poweredge

Revert back to original configuration of hdd in your RAID setup. Boot to SCIS BIOS and double check functionality of hard drives. The error is probably telling you that Disk1 is degraded because disk 0 is failing and you removed the wrong hard drive.

Raid configuration

When your system boots up you should see an option to access your raid controller if not or if your system doesn't see the controller at all you will have to download the utility software from IBM, but you need to be careful any change you make in the configuration of the disks will delete all data on your drives. This is non-recoverable loss. The utility has help and is fairly easy to understand.

Regarding Adding Higher Configuaration HDD Into Exisisting Raid 5

In raid 5 yes you can, yet you won't use the ful hard drive, the system will take only 73GB because that's the smallest HD in your array.

Just, of course, follow the indications for your specific RAID hardware/software about how to add a new HD to it:

Run Compaq Array Configuration Utility

Hi Foambob,

Try all means to get a smartstart CD.
Normally new version will be able to use on older hardware , but no guarantees.
I have always found it easier to use smartstart CD auto mode.
You can also do the install and then run ntssd to update all the drivers etc., but I don't recommend it for novices. Use the auto mode , it takes longer but safely and surely.

Good luck
