-   I have the same problem. My 8100 also keeps shutting off. Sometime it reboots quite fast but sometimes it takes so long that I have to take the battery out for around 10 sec and then place it back in it. If anybody knows the solution please post here.-   aks-leo

-   my blackberry pearl 8100 keeps shutting itself off, trys to reboot, has the hour glass icon appear for about 6 seconds, shuts off, the red led light comes on, and shuts off. then the whole process repeats itself all over again. sort of a pain in the rear considering how great these phones are supposed to be huh? i know this is a software issue, and i will lose everything on my phone, but is there a way to reset the phone without getting into the options in the phone? thanks.-   joel_sievert

-   I can't try charging it while it is off, since anytime I put the battery in it goes into the cycle:1 whites screen with hourglass; 2 red LED; 3 all black; 1; 2; 3;.....

mine did the same thing i called the blackberry warenty and they said that it had gotten wet some how... they said it could had been condisation from going from a cool room to outside where its hot. i mention that because i never got water on it. and there really isnt a way to fix it unless you buy a new one.
I had the same problem after I upgraded the OS. When I put the older OS back on the phone the problem went away. The only issue I have now is when I sync the phone it wants to constantly update the OS again. When I have some time to mess with it I will try another upgrade to see if it keeps cycling. So far I have had NO problems by switching BACK to the older OS. Hope this helps.
I'm having the same issue with T-Mobile Pearl 8120. While I am on the phone, pearl shuts off and reset for about 2 mins and then the screen says, verifying software. This is such a pain especially when you're on some important phone calls. Anyone? please advice. Thx.
