Same ram memory modules ('Sticks'), or have you installed some new ram memory?

1) If it is the same ram memory module/s, and you haven't installed any new ram memory;

I suggest you take out the ram memory module/s, and clean the gold plated contact pins, with a pencil eraser.

Example of a ram memory module, showing the gold plated contact pins on the bottom.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpg

If this problem is in reference to a Dell Optiplex 330 Desktop computer, or Mini-Tower computer, DDR2 Sdram ram memory is used.

The above example in the link is DDR Sdram.

[DDR Sdram has 184 contact pins. 92 on each side.
DDR2 Sdram has 240 contact pins. 120 on each side.

Photo was used for clarity. Shows the gold plated contact pin very well]

Remove the eraser dust with air. Air from your mouth, may have sufficient pressure to remove the dust, or use a can of compressed air for computers.

Reinstall the ram memory module/s.

If you have two ram memory modules, install just one of them in Slot 1.
See if the computer boots up.
If it doesn't, take that ram memory module out of Slot 1, and use the other ram memory module.

Test to see if just one ram memory module may be bad.

If neither ram memory module works, it's time to buy new ram memory.

(This is after you have cleaned the contact pins)

NOTE*
Your body carries Static electricity.
Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit) the hardware components inside a computer.
It is advised to observe anti-static precautions.

Once the computer has been unplugged from power, and the computer case is open, TOUCH the metal frame of the computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

{Advise work on a table. Directly on a carpet floor, or a bed, are High areas of Static.
Should you leave while working on your computer, upon your return TOUCH the metal frame again)

2) Installed new ram memory module/s

IF, just One ram memory module is installed, it should be installed in Slot 1 on the motherboard.
Slot 1 is read by the Processor first.

On the motherboard, Slot 1 is the ram memory slot that is closest to the Processor.
There may be DIMM 1 printed on the motherboard next to Slot 1.

This is Dell Support, and the System Board information on the Optiplex 330,

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/op330/en/ug/mtparts.htm#wp1607303

(System Board = Mainboard, or also stated as Motherboard)

The System Board shown is for the Optiplex 330 Mini-Tower computer, but also applies to the Optiplex 330 Desktop computer.

The number 4 point to the Ram Memory slots.
The number 2 points to the Processor (Socket)
DIMM 1 is above Slot 1 on the motherboard illustration.

If you have installed new ram memory, it has to be either PC2-5300, or PC2-6400 ram memory.
(DDR2 Sdram at 667MegaHertz, and DDR2 Sdram at 800MHz, respectively)

The Maximum TOTAL Amount is 4GB.
The Maximum Amount for EACH ram slot is 2GB.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/op330/en/ug/mtspecs.htm

(This ram memory information applies to both the Desktop computer, and Mini-Tower computer)

1. check if your front panel is connected to your motherboard at proper port2. check "expert mode" on your via hd audio deck, click "advanced options" and check "redirected headphone" (THIS WILL UNCHECK "INDEPENDENT HEADPHONE") and uncheck "enable front panel jack detection"
this should solve your problem.

Where is diagnostic plug 1992 range rover

Hi there,

As far as I can recall, some earlier Land Rover vehicles relied on reading LED flashes (or LCD display) from the vehicle's ECU computer itself, so try the following:

Locate the engine ECU (possibly hidden under the one of the front seats - remove carpet or cover; or behind the left hand kick panel). Once you have located the ECU and it has LED's or a display, do the following procedure:

1) Run engine up to operating temperature
2) Place gears in PARK or Neutral and turn ignition OFF & wait 3 seconds.
3) Turn ignition to position "II" (do not start) - Fault code will display
Note: repeat steps 2 & 3 to obtain any additional codes

4) If no codes display, then disconnect the White 5-pin connector plug (located behind r/hand underside of dash)
5) Repeat steps 2 (wait 3 seconds) & 3 again to see if codes display.

Feel free to post your codes here and someone will be happy to advise you further.

Cheers,

We had a similar problem, but was with the audio side. You can attempt the system reset like this;
Use this procedure to reset all the receiver's settings to
the factory default. Use the front panel controls to do this.
Set MULTI-ZONE to OFF.
1 Switch the receiver into standby.
2 While holding down HOME MENU on the front
panel, press ? STANDBY/ON.
The display shows RESET ? NO ?.
3 Press ENTER on the front panel.
4 Select 'RESET' using ?/?, then press ENTER on
the front panel.
The display shows RESET? OK.
5 Press ENTER to confirm.
OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver
has been reset to the factory default settings.
Hope this helps. I switched to Onkyo for my receiver.

I forgot the password log in to my control panel on HP Designjet T1100PS. unfortunately I used that password for maximum lock..please help me...:-(

I assume you can't do the following:
delete the current password from the front panel: select the Connectivity menu icon c00966396.gif , then Advanced , Embedded Web Server , Reset EWS password . Access to the Networking page is protected by a different password (the administrator's password). To reset the administrator's password, you need to reset the whole input/output configuration. Using the front panel, select the Connectivity menu icon c00966396.gif , then select your connection method (e.g. Gigabit Ethernet ), then Restore factory settings .

Then I know of no other option then performing an eeprom reset.

The EEROM Reset test resets the printer to the factory defaults and delete any user information/files.

1 In the Diagnostics menu (With the printer OFF, press and hold the UP and OK keys. While holding the Up and OK keys down, press and hold the Power key to turn on the
printer. Hold all three keys until the Power key stops flashing, usually
about 5 seconds.), scroll to 11. EEROM and press OK.
2 The EEROM Reset test starts and the front Panel prompts you to request if you
want to continue.
3 If you do want to continue the test, use the Arrow keys to select YES and
press OK. If you do NOT want to continue, select NO and press OK.
4 The EEROM Reset test continues and the front Panel displays the following
message:
? Starting Horsburgh.
? Starting Nvm.
? Getting Part Number.
? Setting default config.
5 The Front Panel finishes the test and prompts you to Recover the Printheads
after completing the test and rebooting the printer.
6 The Front Panel shows the test complete display for a few seconds.

I need to know which button to press to connect my pc to my tv please.

Assuming you have the proper cable (S-video?) and made the proper connections on the TV,
check the ATI video display settings.

To turn on a video device, use one of the following methods: 1. Select Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Display > Settings. 2. Select the Advanced button. 3. Select the ATI Displays tab and select the TV Power

Good luck!

Emachine t1840 wiring diagram power switch wire to mother board ?

Because there are so many different case and motherboard combinations sometimes it can be difficult following the instructions for connecting the front panel, USB header and audio header.

Below is a few generic guide that should stop some of the confusion with the labels on the wires.

***Please note this is a generic wiring guide and we can not guarantee it will work with every motherboard. Please check your motherboard manual first. Wiring the headers wrong can cause damage to the motherboard and case, this damage is not covered by the warranty***

another handy USB wiring guide can be found here http://www.directron.com/installusb.html

this maybe easier to follow
