a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Did you check the numlock button ?

Laptops suffer from this button since it changes the keys 7890uiopjkl:m>? to correspond to the regular keypad on regular desktop's keyboard.
Turning the numlock off will bring the keyboard to it's regular state.

Another scenario may be if you have changed your keyboard's language at the windows control panel.

A little more information on operating system and language would have been helpful. Since I don't have all the info I'll make some assumptions and hope these help.

Assumption no.1. Your operating system is some MS Windows version. (I'll try Win XP).

Assumption no.2. Based on you getting a "less than sign" instead of semi-colon I guess you are using an English version of the operating system.

  • Click START.
  • Click "Control Panel".
  • Double Click the "Regional and Language Options" icon.
  • Click the "Languages" tab.
  • Click the "Details" button.
  • You should now see a window with what keyboard layout you currently have installed. Most likely it will say "US".
  • Click the ADD button.
  • You should now see a list-box with US in it.
  • Click on the side of this box and choose the correct language layout for your keyboard.
  • Your correct keyboard layout should now be listed together with the US keyboard.
  • If you wish, you can now highlight the "US" keyboard option and click the Remove button.
  • Click OK.
  • Restart computer.
  • You should now have the correct keyboard layout.

Hood luck ;)

My mac laptop will not type certain letters. Instead, they come out as symbols. For example, I cannot type "g". It comes out as the copyright symbol.

Well what i learnt with MAC and pretty much any system is the keyboard when setting it up, if it is done in a different country format it will come out different when you type..
e.g. I have my HP G60-235DX and i Reinstalled the OS and then did the keyboard upon setup for UK english and i am in the U.S. and it came out totally different.. My @ is usually my number 2 not it is the " open quotation sign for my number 2 and my original open quotation sign is my @ sign, and this was all working fine once redone to american setup for the keyboard...
Check into that and see if the wrong setup was selected for the keyboard may have to call apple if not sure where to go for that...
99% of the time that is the issue and reason being is that keyboard and mose are like standard drives those dont require the software drivers just start up drivers and they work, so try to rethink and see in setup what was selected...
Give it a shot... what you got to lose more that a twisted keyboard... thank you

My blitz doesnt text

Try this. Touch Keypad simulates a wireless phone keypad on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols just as if you were using a wireless phone keypad. Touch Keyboard simulates a 20-key QWERTY (typewriter) keyboard on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols similar to the way you would using a QWERTY keyboard. To use Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard:  In a program, tap the Input Selector arrow, and then tap Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard. To type lowercase letters, tap the keys on the dial pad or keyboard. To type a single uppercase letter, tap the Shift key and then tap the corresponding key. To type all uppercase letters, tap the Shift key twice. To change back to all lowercase letters, tap again. To enter a space after the word, tap the Space key. To start a new line, tap the Enter key. To backspace and delete a single character in any input mode, press the Back key. To open the Symbol pad, tap the Symbol key. To change the input mode:  Tap the Input mode key to switch to a different input mode: XT9 (predictive), Multitap (abc), or Numeric (123).

Hope this helps, let me know if this works or if I can help you with anything else.

My keyboard letter types wrongly to type @ I have to press shift and 2

UK keyboards use a different key for @.
If you wish to change the keyboard layout, you can do this by right clicking on your taskbar and select "language bar". When this is done, right click on the keyboard symbol and select "settings". Change the default language (to UK) and your keyboard will type correctly.

Types wrong letters

It sounds like you have the 10,12,15,PS selector switch on PS with a 10, or 12 print wheel installed. Return to the left margin, move the switch to 10 and type.
